This is a review for the Polar Express train ride. After we purchased the tickets, I read reviews from years ago that mentioned negative things so we were worried about going. We still went with open mind and drove close to 2 hours in traffic to get there. In short, we had such a great time! The staff on the train were friendly, including Santa. The hot chocolate they provided was rich and delicious. The cookie was chocolate mint, and it was vegan friendly. The train ride was about 50min or so with entertainment like the book reading, hot chocolate music with staff dancing and singing Christmas carol. The North Pole setting was a little silly looking from an adult perspective, but my 6 year old loved seeing Santa and the helper there. Santa spent time with every child on the train and he gave us all silver bells. The tickets were expensive($60pp) but it was worth it!
Kids really enjoyed the experience. A must experience for the family. Now the kids aren't afraid to watch the Tom Hanks version of the Polar Express lol. Make sure to book online early as the train fills up fast.
Our family had a fun time on the Polar Express. I can't wait to take a ride in the vintage cars during warmer months. The crew are very kind and family friendly.
First time Polar Express riders and the experience was truly magical!! We were in the dining room in the premiere car and had the best time with Connor the attendant and the chef. Connor was entertaining, helpful and was wonderful! He kept us all laughing and having a great time. Our party of 8 kept him on his toes but he rolled with the punches and was fantastic. The chef was so informative and attentive. She kept us laughing as well. The car had great heat and plenty of room. Will definitely be going back next year!
This is a review of the Polar Express train ride. Whatever you do, do not pay the extra money to have upgraded seats. The regular seats are all in a train car that is nicely decorated with tables to sit at and look out the windows. That part looked pretty cute and had we sat there this review might be different. The 'upgraded' seating was a bathroom (literal toilet and sink, no table) with a dirty couch-like seat in it. It smelled super strong of cleaner and when we got on they were rushing to 'put a blanket down' before we got in the room. I was so disappointed I almost cried. Luckily my child is so young it didn't seem to phase him, but I would have happily downgraded to sit anywhere else. The cocoa was fine, the cookie was fine, the staff were just kids who weren't really interested in being there or acting out any parts. They gave us a book to read along with and asked people to sing carols for entertainment. The 'North Pole' was okay, but even my 4 year old called out that it's clearly not real. The Santa however was wonderful. He sees every child and gives them a pretty silver bell. He spent a few minutes with us and my kid beamed the whole time. He was really great and the main reason for 3 stars.
We did the polar express for the first time, and we loved it! There was a group of 8 and everyone was so nice and attentive. The best part of the experience was Connor. He was so much fun and made the experience so much better. The chef was amazing and our kids loved that part. The hot chocolate was the best we have had and the peppermint hot chocolate cookies were FANTASTIC. We can’t wait for next year to do it again.
Oh, it was cold that day but once we made our way in the train and our compartment, Wow! What fun. I felt like a child again. The entertainment and service was exceptional. The hot cocoa was warm. But, I understand giving a child scalding cocoa would not fare well and the big peppermint chocolate cookies were good. Santa was great! What a blast! A bit spendy but well worth the experience.
Very cool experience, especially for kids. My 4 year old LOVED IT!!! They do a great job of suggesting we're to sit because we had an infant with us as well, it was suggested to sit inside due to the sun and more so about the crazy loud train horn! Excellent time!
