We’ve eaten here several times over the years, and the food has always been excellent. The atmosphere and service is always different, as it seems like they’re constantly renovating/reworking the space. The service on this visit was exceptional - warm, inviting, friendly, and efficient. The portions are generous, but the prices for sides are a little high, especially for a piece of cornbread.

1st time in Louisiana and the customer service was amazing! Ms Kathy and the bartender J make the restaurant what it is. Of course the food was devine...I think I was drunk off the flavor when I got back to my hotel room...Will definitely return, pull over and try this spot! It's deliceaux!

Started with the fried green tomatoes that were topped off with cajun shrimp and a crawfish cream sauce 👌 Really good. For my entrée, I had the Gumbo Monceaux, served with potato salad instead of rice and a couple of poached eggs. I thought it was just ok. I was honestly surprised that it didn't have rice. My family always had the rice, gumbo, and a scoop of potato salad right in there with it. This place doesn't have your traditional Gumbo. .. They put tomato pieces in it 🫣... to each their own, I suppose. Potato salad didn't have any mustard... ahhhh.. Not impressed. To sum it up, the place had a good vibe. It was very laid back. The service was superb. Super friendly staff, they make you feel at home. The food. Just OK 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had the traditional gumbo, It tasted mid to mediocre the roux was too thick and I want impressed. and I won't return. The waiter was irritated that I wouldn't sit at the bar so it's a no return spot .

I ordered a 20 oz seafood gumbo with no rice for pickup. I haven't eaten white rice in many years. When I pulled the gumbo out of the bag, the container was not full. I asked the server about it an she made up some excuse about having no rice. When I got home I took pictures of the gumbo in the container. I then transferred the contents to a measuring cup. They had only given me 16oz of gumbo. Look a the pictures and see for yourself. Chef Ron's ripped me off by giving me only 16oz of gumbo when I paid for 20oz.
