It’s a beautiful natural lake side beach in the Chattfield State Park. A cool and fun place to spend your weekend with family and friends. It is good for swimming, kayaking, or even for a boat ride. The beach is clean and pristine. Your pets will not be allowed on the beach so do not bring them to the beach. They have clean shower and restrooms but were closed when i visited.
Beach is more gravel than sand, bring water shoes if you want to save your feet. Lots of space and open 'beach' on both sides for paddle boarding or whatever else you might want to do. The swim beach is right inside the West entrance off Wadsworth, you can see it from the gate. There is no shade anywhere near the water. Bring your own and/or sunscreen.
Update. Went to the Roxborough side and it was amazing!
Very rocky, beach shoes are recommended. Flip flops will only cause more issues as you try to walk across the "beach." Water is a rotating version of slimy, grimy, tons of debris, green, brown, sediment, and sometimes clear'ish. Views are great, but the atmosphere is almost cumbersome to deal with. They try to close it off after Labor Day, but nobody tells me when I can or can't swim in a disgusting reservoir whenever I darn well please. Volunteers in the office aren't all educated on the CPW world, and will smile and waste your time. Kayaking and paddle boarding was phenomenal this year thanks to the rain filling in the extension real good! Summary: Cherry Creek is a lot better, but this concrete park will do while I live on this side of the worst county in Colorado.
Nice spacious beach with lots of parking in this large state park in the midst of the city. The beach sand is pretty course and it isn’t the most pleasant to walk bare foot on, and the swimming area is pretty small. The beach was a great launching place for a paddle board.
Swimbeach was awesome! Very flooded for this time of year but still a blast! Easy access to bathroom and parking lot. Rangers are always nice and helpful. Such a great spot to swim, paddle board, or boat ❤️
Cleanest body of water in the greater Denver area. Love the paddle board people. Easy to bike here.

This is a great place to train BJJ, the community is awesome! There is a strong emphasis on safety. The quality of instruction is really high and the mats are clean and in a great state of repair. I started my BJJ journey at a different academy and a
