Chateau Beachfront Hotel, A By The Sea Resort - Hotel in Panama City Beach - 12525 Front Beach Rd, USA

What a dump!!! They should remove the word resort from the name of this hotel. It is certainly not a resort! Our room wasn't as clean as it should have been and the bathroom had a sewage smell the entire time. I had to flush the toilet several time just to get paper to go down. The maid never once came to our room to clean or bring towels or any other toiletries. We had to hunt down bath towels and anything else we needed. They have a ice machine that you have to pay for and it was broken most of the time I was there. The entire property is old, dirty and hasn't been taken care of very well! Also, I believe this place may have roaches. I don't mean Florida bugs but roaches some has packed in with them from their home!||The pool is small and was green the entire time we were there. There was rarely ever pool towels and the ones you could find were thin and old. There are not enough chairs in the pool area for the amount of people staying in the hotel. There is a pool bar that makes decent drinks but they're very expensive and the pool atmosphere is not conducive to hanging around the pool to enjoy your drink! Also, the showers to wash sand off didn't work very well and no one bothered to clean the sand up.|The beach location is great and is walking distance of the pier and other amenities. The restaurant next door Harpoon Harry's is delicious! There is a Hooter's next door to Harry's and both are within walking distance.||Overall I would not come back to this hotel. It is old, dirty and just plain junkie! It is entirely too expensive for what you are getting! This place shouldn't cost more than $50 a night...maybe $75 for a room with a kitchen. If you can afford better... stay somewhere else! Also, do not be fooled by the pictures because this place isn't nice at all!!!|***STAY AWAY***

when we arrived the front desk room smelled like mildew. the lady at the front desk was friendly. 30 seconds into us being in our room we exterminated a fat roach. after that they just kept coming. we had about 10 roaches total. these are not baby roaches they’re huge. they mostly hung out in the bathroom. the bartender, Trish, was amazing and the best part of our experience. I called the front desk at 7pm one night about roaches and they said they would come spray. We eventually had to call them again at 2am and they came and said they were out of bug spray. our AC was not cold. housekeeping did not come a single time and we ran out of toilet paper. the view was nice though.

Worse place. |Nothing like the pictures advertised. |Horrible sewer /mold smell on rooms and even reception |My room was dirty. Not swept. Not moped. Dirty towels. Wet bath. Dirty soap. Dirty balcony. The staff didn't care to come clean up. We couldn't stand the smell. Got headaches and it was unsafe for my asthmatic daughter. So we had to cancel. I was charged even though I didn't stay. They never responded Booking about my request of cancelation multiple times. As I returned my room card I made them aware of my cancelation, the unsafe smell for my daughter and to answer the phone as Booking was trying to contact them multiple times along with an email. Days passed and Booking kept calling, no answer. Weeks passed, no answer. Then after another week or so they only Saud that they would let the manager know. And today no refund. I am out of around $800 because they just don't care and don't want to be held responsible. ||I need my Refund.

In comparison to other beachfront hotels, this hotel was very reasonably priced for a midweek stay. We were skeptical because the reviews arranged wildly, but our experience was very good! Contrary to many of the reviews, our room was clean, and we had a beautiful view of the pool and Gulf. One word of warning: do not be fooled by the price stated on the Best Western website when paying online. Even though you are booking online, there is a disclaimer that says the hotel is individually owned and operated and can charge you more during check-in. Strongly suggest you call the hotel and get the quote and get the name of the person before reserving the room and paying online. Two employees, Andrea and Karla were both very friendly, helpful and professional. Our only disappointment was that the tiki bar was supposed to be open until sunset, but closed about an hour beforehand.

This hotel was the worst experience I've ever had coming down to Panama City Beach. I could write an essay on how bad this hotel was but I will put it in "short" points for you. 1. The staff could NOT care less about its customers checking in. 2. The front desk person added an additional $300 to my booking and when confronted about it she took off the charges but still charged an additional $50. These fees were not deposit fees either. 3. The rooms smelled like absolute SEWER. No matter how much air fresheners or preventatives taken to try and stop the smell, it only got worse as the days went by. 4. We called multiple days in a row and multiple times a day asking for extra towels, toilet paper, and trash bags but only received 3 towels and were not given any remorse for the amount of times we called. We either had to stop by the store while we were out and buy the supplies ourselves or find a workers cart and take the necessities ourselves. This wouldn't be a huge issue but their pamphlets encourage hospitality and room service, which there is absolutely none. 5. The pool was extremely hot. We let it slide because the only reason for us booking the hotel was for the pool and beachfront access 6. The location is sketchy. As young girls walking to and from the room to our vehicles we were catcalled plenty of times from homeless people or people walking around at night. Definitely not a safe place for young girls and children. 7. On top of the last point, one night as were arriving to the hotel from a fancy birthday dinner, there was no parking but there were cars parked with no hotel permit all in the parking lot. They told us to park across the street in a "fenced in lot" which was beside a dark abandoned looking warehouse with absolutely no cameras, streetlights, or crosswalk.This was not safe for young ladies and a child to cross the street safely in heels, as well as leave a rental car in this sketchy area risking getting it broken into. Security told us to park on the other side of the road and never offered to escort us even when we explained we felt unsafe. Then he continued to go on a smoke break. 8. The stairs are super slick and resulted in one of us falling down the stairs and almost broke an ankle. This hotel is absolutely not worth anyones time or money. I never write reviews but this place made it feel like they went out of their way to make us have a bad experience I couldn't, not share.

If you’re looking into booking anything here please do your research. This place isn’t as it seems in the pictures! We called three times on the way to our room to make sure it was ready the front reception assured us that as soon a we got there all we had to do was check in. We ended up having to wait an hour before even getting our room. As soon as we finally get into our room it was half way cleaned. There was still sand on the floor and even the sheets. The sheet also had a small blood like stain as if they just made the beds after someone. For the price I would have loved to pay just a little more to get all the amenities. The pool was very small and crowded/dirty. This place is a joke! We also never received our deposit back that you get at the end. Along with the lady, never sending me proof to my email that they sent it. Really look into the reviews before renting from here. You’re better off renting a cheaper room in the town area! It’s the same thing!!

This place was the worst. Pictures online are very deceiving. The office smelled of sewage back up and so did the room. We were on the bottom floor and had to travel down 2 flights of stairs with luggage (no elevator). The place has a bad roach infestation, it wasn't even dark yet and they were coming out of the drop ceiling. The room itself was so dirty. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned throughly in months. We were supposed to stay 3 nights and left after one. Such of waste of money. We didn't even get half of it back. We booked through the actual Best Western website. Cannot believe this place is still open.

Location is great! Rooms were clean, very quiet and had no disturbances at night. Front desk was very helpful. Rooms have been updated and remodeled. Chateau is the very first hotel we stayed in on our first trip and will always be my favorite. Because of our first experience 7 years ago we have returned for summer vacation every year since.
