Charley's Waterfront Cafe - American restaurant in Farmville - 201 Mill St, USA

Great place and atmosphere with beautiful architecture from a very antique tobacco warehouse. Food was great and the service as well. They have a big selection of wine, beer and cocktails and the hot crab dip amazing.

We found Charley’s when we were passing through. It was a Sunday around 1230. We were seated right away out on the deck. The view was nice and so was the weather. We waited for about 10 minutes before someone (I think David) asked if we had been helped. He was great and made up for the mixup. Delicious cocktails and good food. The pimento burger was delicious. I recommend you stop in for a meal.

Food was outstanding. Fresh and served hot. The staff was very friendly and seemed happy. Overall a great atmosphere. The soup was definitely homemade and delicious. Onion rings were perfectly crispy, not greasy and not overcooked. My sandwich was piled high with brisket and the meat just melted in my mouth. I wish I lived closer, this would be my regular spot.

The atmosphere was excellent. Food was great. Service stunk. It’s hard to look past bad service when they don’t acknowledge you for 15mins after sitting down. You have to get up and ask where is my server. Your drinks arrive another 15 mins after you order them and then your waitress is no where to be seen after your food arrives a total of 45mins after you have sat down. If the food wasn’t good it would have been a completely disappointment but the food was really good. The onion rings had great flavor and the crab cake was mostly meat not filler. The Mac and cheese is not your typical flavor so the kiddos might not like it. It uses more flavorful cheese than American. I thought it was delicious. Would certainly recommend this play for the food just be mindful of the service. It is very accessible to everyone. Plenty of room for wheelchairs inside, outside, and restrooms. There is a lovely deck that overlooks the river that runs past.

A surprise date night & knowing he planned it meant everything. This place is great. The food was good, the staff was helpful & friendly & eating over the river was the best.

This is an amazing restaurant. I’m sitting here right now and just got done my hamburger. It tasted absolutely delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. Also, the Server did a fantastic job keeping my drink cup full. Also, they have an amazing vintage Kohler Toilet in the bathroom. If you come by here make sure you use the bathroom. It’s epic. It is also very clean.

We arrived for lunch when the restaurant opened at noon on a Friday. It is located in a lovely historical district. We were able to get a table for five (including a wheelchair) in a shady spot on the spacious outdoor terrace. Almost everyone in our party ordered their favorite sandwich, a Reuben. Service was somewhat slow, and the Reubens were a disappointment. They were dry, and there seemed to be very little sauerkraut and dressing. We wouldn't order that again. The staff did prepare a "birthday sundae" for a member of our party.

Came in after the dinner rush on a Sunday night, and it was a great experience. Service was prompt, the food was delicious and ambiance was great. The building itself is fascinating and very well decorated. The only thing that felt out of place was the full wallpapering of the bathroom walls in Sports Illustrated magazine covers. Our table ordered the Patty Melt, the Rueben, the French Dip and couple cups of chili, and everything was great! Overall I would dine again and would like to try some of the steak options.
