The campground itself is ok. If you have a big rig ask for a paved spot the grass in the back is a bit soft. There is a “low rent” mobile home park that shares the entrance. While we were there every night they had some kind of get together. It wasn’t loud, but there are cars parked everywhere and it appears to be some kind of religious gathering. Also, lots of people on foot so keep your eyes open. Another camper had an electric bike stolen. So if you leave stuff outside make sure you lock it down. At least some of the sites aren’t level.
This was the most expensive camp ground we have came across so far. For the price we paid we didn’t even have a fire pit. The laundry machines are horrible. Half of them do not work and the residents from the mobile home park use these . This makes it hard to complete your laundry. One of the ladies that works there , long brown hair with glasses is super rude . The maintenance men are very nice . Was very disappointed.
We have been set up at the Holiday KOA in Ladson, SC for the week. Wanted to share our experience so far. This campground had mixed reviews so I was a little nervous at first, but have been pleasantly surprised so far! It's a very quiet campground. Since it's a holiday, there aren't a ton of amenities, however, they have a nice pool area, laundry, camp store that sells the COLDEST ice around for 2.00 a bag, a recreation area with a pool table, nice playground, gas tank refills and an ample laundry area. They also have several cabins for rent. There are some full-timers parked here, but other than seeing a lawn mower or larger lp tank, nothing concerning. The road initially shares a path with a trailer park next door, however most of those sites are occupied by full timers. The campground is very convenient to shopping, restaurants, water park, cypress gardens and about 30 minutes to the beaches and downtown Charleston. If you're looking for a quiet home base, this is a good option!
As soon as you arrive expectations are immediately lowered. Sadly, the lowered expectations are quickly met. Sites are awful, grass uncut, and the entire camp is eclipsed by a very large and dilapidated trailer park next door. People from the trailer park constantly coming and going through the Koa unchecked. They use all the facilities for free which the campers have paid to use. Nighttime is very noisy not only the trailer park but the racetrack of the main road. If you like cats there are many feral cats wondering about. Don't stay here. Needs immediate attention. Contacted Koa corporate office. Usual reply, not their concern.
Was not what i am used to with KOA. We are members and did not expect this from a KOA. The grounds are semi-clean but could be cut. The pool was ok even though one of the staff members was not very friendly yelling at the young kids. We travel with our dogs and have a small temporary fence we use to keep our dogs from runnig off when we open the door. The same staff member that yelled at the kids left a note on my dogs fence explaing they allowed dogs but not dog pens. I explained to the staff member this was our first and last visit at this KOA.
The dilapidated trailer park next door is in better condition than this campsite. Camp sites were in terrible state and the whole place was more like a field with hookups. Loads of folk from the trailer park all around the entrance constantly. Won't be back. If you're desperate, WalMart or Cracker Barrel would be a much better option to be honest.
This is our third visit and we were disappointed to see the grounds unkept and unmowed. Kamp K9 was overgrown and had old dog poop inside.. it was hard to enjoy with the dogs when the potential for snakes and ticks is tenfold. After checking in, the staff just kinda stared at us as we made small talk; we recognized them but they didn’t recognize us(or didn’t act like it). The pool was open this time and the campground was full.
There is a reason this KOA has open spaces while the one northeast of Charleston is booked out well in advance. The entrance to this one is the entrance to a trailer park and KOA staff will harass you if you set up pen to keep your toddler and/or dogs safe. I had friends staying at the order koa with a similar set up. They were given no grief.
With fast, friendly service and a casual atmosphere, Culver's on Ladson Road is a great place for a meal or quick snack with the family. After ordering at the counter, pick your choice of table, booth, or barstool-style seating and put your order num
Omg!!!! This place was so Awesome!!! STARZ and STRIKES!! We had so much fun!! So much stuff to do! We played everything! The only issues I had was the food. The chicken. I had was rubbery and seemed uncooked. But I dont have to eat to visit this plac
I was concerned about coming here due to the reviews, but I wanted shrimp and grits before we left the area. Unfortunately we dug in before the pictures were taken. Hush puppies (complimentary) were sweet and savory. The fried green tomatoes were fr
