Such a gem of an ice cream shop. If you’ve never been here I implore you to check it out. The ice cream is simply delightful. I had the vanilla fudge and while I usually don’t like hard ice cream, it was still somewhat soft. It was kept as the perfect temperature for serving. The service is incredible here. The atmosphere transports you back to a simpler time. Highly recommend you give this place a try!
Pretty good ice cream. Nice atmosphere. Got a pup cup (that the dogs devoured), a cake cup, and an ice cream sandwich for right under $20… so not the cheapest, but good for when you need something sweet in a pinch
Chaps catered dessert for our September wedding, and the whole experience was great! They were great communicators, easy to work with during the planning process, and the ice cream was amazing. Our guests had nothing but compliments. We definitely recommend Chaps!
Such a cute ice cream place! Got pistachio and it was very tasty. They have some inside seating and cute booths. Sugar cones, waffle cones, and cups available.
This 5 star review is for the cookie dough. It is amazing. This is homemade ice cream at Chaps. The oreo ice cream was nothing to write home about. They have plenty of other flavors. I wanted to get the birthday cake or the mint chocolate chip but they were out of both of those. I will have to go back and try them out!!! They have several ice cream flavors to try. The ice cream takes a day to set and get ready so that is why she said they didn't have the birthday cake ice cream available. She was friendly. I am not sure if she is the owner or not. She was an older woman. The place inside isn't the nicest. It is pretty old and run down and typical looking for a place that is old. I am not sure how old it is or how long it has been around. It is highly rated on TripAdvisor, etc. so it is definitely a must if you love homemade ice cream. I don't think you will go wrong here. They offer donuts, cookies, some other desserts and breakfast and lunch as well but we have not tried any of those out. Prices are good for homemade ice cream too. I can't wait to go back.
Chaps ice cream is delicious and the atmosphere is so pleasant. I also ordered an Americano, because we were at Grit Coffee on Main Street prior to coming to Chaps for ice cream and I had ordered an Americano there, which was so bad I was unable to drink it. Ironically, the Americano at Chaps was delicious. Who would have thought an ice cream shop can have better coffee than a coffee shop. Also, the young lady who served the ice cream at Chaps is quite nice.
We dropped by to visit Virginia Discovery Museum and saw the ice cream shop. It’s just a gem. The kids were delighted to ice cream and we ordered cappuccino and espresso. Nice retro vibe with plenty of sittings and clean place to enjoy the ice cream. They have kids size to triple scoops of ice cream and ample of varieties to try.
I always make time to stop at Chaps when I'm on the Downtown Mall. Love the retro vibe with the Western movie palying outside and the 50's era checkerboard floors and booths inside. Friendly staff was very patient and encouraging a our trying samples. The flavors are old school in a good way. Loved the Raspberry Coffee cone I had. Perfect end to a fun visit!

These workouts are tough, but the atmosphere and support is OUT OF THIS WORLD. These ladies and Carly seriously made me feel immediately part of the group and encouraged me throughout the whole workout. This level of training is what I need to reach
This place specializes in distilling rum and they do it extremely well. Hopefully the owner will read this and correct me but I believe they even have 3 different types of gin based on a rum distillate. This is a small Distillery with all of their p
