Visited this location close to sunset on our way back to Pismo from the Hearst Castle. The grounds are very interesting and beautiful. The entire visit lasted about one hour and cost $20 for two adults, kids are free. I look forward to being able to see the inside of the house in the future, once the city and historical foundation get it ready!
We love visiting older homes with an interesting history. This was recommended to us by Darius in the visitor center on the Pismo Beach pier. It has limited hours and he recommended the Friday evening time. There is only street parking, but it is right in front of the estate. The modest admission is $5 or $10 for a guided docent tour. We opted for the docent tour because it allowed us access to areas the other tour didn't. It was not crowded and Toni was our guide for just the 2 of us. She told us the history of the estate, which included only 2 different owners, and had a notebook of additional pictures and information. The estate is built on 11 lots that were purchased for $10 total (not each)! The garden was like a Botanical garden with plaques describing the different plants. There were so many varieties of beautiful dinner plate dahlias. The Begonia Garden was amazing with so many varieties of begonias I have never seen. There were two gentlemen playing relaxing music that added to the tranquill atmosphere. The windmill was originally used to heat the pool through a fascinating process. The lighthouse tower was built to block the view of the house next door and also to provide privacy. Most of the outside work is done by dedicated volunteers. We were only able to view part of the house through the windows. The house was left to the city by the last owner and they are in the process of restoring it with needed repairs. They hope to have it completed by next year. We will definitely come back then.
Beautiful gardens with informative docent lead tour of the grounds outside of Chapman House.
The grounds are beautiful. Can't wait until you can tour the inside. Well worth the $10 tour.
Enjoyed the short but informative tour by the docent. End of Sumner or early fall great time to see the begonias.
We enjoyed the time here. It’s a beautiful location with a great cliff walk readily at hand. The tour is quite limited at this time but we will return later in the year when the flower beds are in full bloom. We particularly look forward to them opening the home for tours (the timing for that opening is unspecified). The docent was very knowledgeable and friendly.
One of my favorite peaceful places! I've lived on the Central Coast for 38+ years and have come to this awesome place many many times...when my 3 children were little and now that they are grown. I love the peace l always feel here!

A few friends and I walked in for some late night tacos. Even though we walked in 10 minutes before closing, the workers were so kind and accommodating. I was astonished at the unique meat options I have never seen elsewhere! I always go for a classi
Beautiful little park on the cliffs overlooking Pismo beach. Toys/ playground was very busy when we were there. A nice path goes along the cliff with lots of places to sit and enjoy the views
If you are a foodie, then you should certainly check out this place! Bobbie is great! I found out about this sandwich/bread shop and am so glad I did! It is one of those LOCAL treats that you may pass by if you did not look for it, I know I did until
We love staying here! Every room has an ocean view and when we stay on upper levels we love keeping the sliding door open so we can hear the ocean waves and feel the fresh air. Very cool town as well. We love to go into town for food and San Luis Obi
This little overlook provides an amazing view! It wasnât super busy, but itâs surprisingly chilly out so it may be that. Plenty of room for the kiddos to run around and play, just be careful of the construction areas!
Nice park overlooking the ocean. Small playground and green space. You can climb down to the tide pools area, I wouldn't recommend the climb for little kids.
Definitely recommend this hotel. Great service. Room was super clean and nothing was missing. Nice play area with playground, table tennis... Etc. The views from the hotel and from the rooms (ocean front rooms) are spectacular. There's a trail that r
Best ocean front experience so far.
The room is clean and refreshing.
