Champaign Garden Inn - Featured Reviews (91)
I booked this stay as I need somewhere to sleep for a work event while in town. I'm not much of a "B&B" person but I absolutely loved this inn. The vibe was so cozy and all of the instructions for check-in/check-out/rules were very easy to understand and clear. Someone did greet me when I arrived, but other than that I did not hear or see much of them the rest of my stay. I loved having access to the tea/coffee and snacks in the "after hours" before my evening event and was greatly surprised by the abundance of food options at breakfast. There was far more options that I have seen offered at some hotels. I stayed in the Champaign room and it was so cozy and chic - I will absolutely be back! My only regret is that it wasn't nice enough outside to sit on the beautiful porch and enjoy the neighborhood.
Debated leaving the review, but I would love to protect the peace for other future visitors. This was a last resort option that I regret. I should have paid more for privacy and courtesy.
As the other reviews state, the food is absolutely the bare minimum of breakfast to-go. Mosquitos on front porch and balcony are unbearable. There are cameras in so many corners and the relaxation part is just not there. The service workers are aggressive with cleaning and in your face even though it’s a “contactless” check-in arrangement. On top of the many rules given to you on paper after you get your room key, there are many other unwritten rules to be in the house.
For example, the common areas must be kept pristine with an employee watching every move through cameras and the same person patrolling whoever opens the front door. I went for a walk after a quick bite of food that I brought in Tupperware and was reprimanded for leaving it on the lunchroom table for 30 minutes. My things were not treated with the respect of a guest. My sunglasses were thrown in the Tupperware and moved out of sight. I was scolded for leaving it there as a guest. I wanted to find a way to wash my things when I got back, but that would have only been possible in a bathroom sink. No access to kitchen. “You can’t leave stuff around. I’m supposed to keep this place clean.” I didn’t expect anyone to clean after me, all I expected was to be comfortable in the bed and breakfast that I paid more for. It really was that bad for me in only a one-night stay. The rooms are so close to one another that you can hear other guests coming and going with doors slamming too easily. I definitely would not recommend or stay again.
This place is great! We were in town a few days over the weekend for a wedding and wanted to stay somewhere less corporate than a hotel and booked the Chicago room. I'm so glad we did! The house is way too cool, perfectly furnished to not be too cluttered, but still give the right vibe, bed was extremely comfortable, Kevin was SUPER fast to respond to my 1 request, and I love that there was hot coffee, cold water, and some snacks available all day. We were able to easily walk ~12 minutes downtown to restaurants and the wedding venue. I think there was 1 other room booked when we were there, but never heard a peep. Check-in was easy. I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again!
What a charming place! The owner was so accommodating (and very chic!). The rooms were beautiful, the decor very thought-out. I wish I stayed for more than one night. I could spend hours relaxing on the porch.
Our stay in the Champaign room was amazing. Clean, comfortable, and cozy! The continental breakfast was incredible with so many choices. The overall house was amazing too. Our only regret was not having enough time to enjoy our stay longer.
Thank you, Kevin, for being such an amazing host! Your mother-in-law was also delightful. The thoughtful attention to detail made my stay absolutely lovely. The Berkeley Room was so cozy for one. The bed is beautifully comfortable and your sheets are divine! I loved slipping into my fluffy, soft robe while I enjoyed your breakfast beverages. What a wonderful experience. Yes, when the opportunity presents itself, I will be so happy to visit you again. Bravo, to you, your staff, and your beautiful property. What excellent customer service.!! Wishing you all the success you deserve! Marcia K
This Thanksgiving was my third stay with the Champaign Garden Inn and it’s lovely hosts. Not only
is the property beautiful, but it’s historic nature and decor make it truly unique. The rooms are always spotless and comfortable. Plenty of water, coffee, tea and snacks. Check-in and checkout are a breeze. Also walking distance to local restaurants. Look no further in the area!!
Very clean, well kept 100+ year old home. Nicely appointed. Serve yourself breakfast with lots of choices.

This was my first experience, nice clean store with extremely helpful staff. My dad and I both enjoyed our little cakes. I look forward to trying more flavors .
So much food for the price (~$13-$16)! I got the Thai basil fried rice and it was super aromatic and flavorful, even without meat (I got it with vegetables). The staff is super sweet and service is quick. I had enough food for two meals. Will be comi
