The Center for Urban Horticulture was a jaw-droppingly beautiful venue for our wedding. We're still getting compliments about how stunning the location was! That said, our vendors were very frustrated by the amenities. While previously the elevator and kitchen were available to vendors, they're currently not—you can imagine how much harder it was for them to cook for 80+ people without the use of a kitchen, or transport all the furniture without an elevator. This made everything vastly more complicated, and if we were starting again we'd choose a different venue despite the Center's incredible natural beauty.
CUH is always worth a visit! Inside the CUH building there's Miller library that is open to the public. It has great art exhibits and a wealth of wonderful books! Outside, there are multiple garden plots to visit: a fragrance garden, the beautiful and interesting Soest garden and Goodfellow Grove. Behind the CUH is the Union Bay Natural Area with trails to wetlands, natural vegetation areas, Union Bay and great bird watching! I hope you can go!
Just the most beautiful event space! We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at the Center for Urban Horticulture (CFUH)- after a thorough venue search we knew we wanted somewhere that was Seattle-authentic, mostly outdoors, allowed outside catering and affordable. CFUH was all of that! In addition, the staff were so easy and accommodating to work with-they let us use some of their rentals, helped with setup and cleanup, etc. The rental includes a number of different outdoor spaces within the venue and we loved using each one for a different portion of our wedding. The grove area used for the ‘dining room’ is truly magical, it’s under a tree canopy and spacious enough to feel Covid-safe. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous it all was! We highly recommend hosting an event at CFUH!
A wonderful place to enjoy seeing variety of plants and flowers. Lots of parking and convenient bathrooms. There are trails nearby for walking and jogging. Excellent place!
Nice small botanical garden if you are in the area. The nearby ponds are great for birding in the winter.
Absolutely amazing at dusk. We saw so much wildlife and great plants and trees.
A great venue for a wedding. Plenty of space with a beautiful view of Mount Rainer.
Beautiful display of plants outside. Nice place to stroll alone or with friends. Great library on site.
