Nice clean quite little motel that caters to fisherman with a fish cleaning area as well as a freezer to pit your catch

Stayed here for one evening prior to an early AM fishing charter on Lake Erie. Very comfortable no frills room, perfect for what we needed. This is the second time I stayed here, won't be the last. Very friendly and helpful owners.

We stayed just one night to go out fishing on a charter the next morning. Very nice room. Nice, helpful lady at the front desk. ||Room is clean with microwave, small fridge, & tv. WiFi didn’t work even when she said we could get better reception near laundry. Took a long time to get warm water in the shower but the room was very clean. ||I would definitely recommend this quaint motel. I did see that they are pet friendly. Good to know.

2 years in a row this cozy spot was the perfect pick. Easy access from the highway. Secure locks on the doors and the air conditioner worked great! Microwave and small fridge. Cozy and very friendly! Rooms were very clean and close to charter fishing! Thanks Cedars!

This little motel is perfect. We were in town for a banquet and didn't want to drive after being out late at night. We made a reservation the day before. Lynn said we could come whenever. Cute little place and sufficient for an overnight trip. Clean bed, clean towels all the basics were there. I was impressed to see that our room had a microwave and frig. We will stay here again for sure.

Very nice local motel. Very clean and neat. Very nice owners. There is a pavillion with a stone fireplace, wood and picnic table to enjoy. Close to Bridge street and lake Erie. Just a good place to relax and chill. I like it a lot.

We wanted to take a short trip to do some wine tasting in the area, and were having trouble finding a place that would allow our 4 Greyhounds. Yes, that does seem like a lot of dogs! But we travel with them frequently to events, and they are well behaved. When I called the Cedar's Motel, the owner, Lyn, asked, "Are they ladies and gentlemen?" :-) I thought that was nice, and replied that they are. We are aware that we are ambassadors for the Greyhounds, and want to leave a favorable impression, so we never leave the dogs in the room alone, are careful about cleaning up, and always bring sheets to put over the bedspreads. Feeling hopeful, I gratefully made reservations for 2 nights. There is a $5 fee per dog, per day, but even with the pet fee, the rates were very reasonable. And the owners and staff actually do like dogs! Knowing that this is a small "Mom and Pop" business, we weren't sure what to expect. Many motels in the Ashtabula-Geneva On The Lake area are older and not kept up well. But we were very pleasantly surprised upon checking in. The owners are so friendly and accommodating, and the room was great. Yes, it is an older motel with wood paneling and a basic (but fairly large) bathroom, but it was immaculately clean, and had many welcome extras. Wifi was excellent, the beds were comfortable, there was a roomy closet with lots of hangers, and a microwave and good sized fridge. The bathroom had a large sink vanity, and the hot water in the shower was good. There were lots of outlets, extra blankets, and heat that was easy to adjust. Parking was right at our door, and no smoking rooms are available. An extra bonus for dog owners is the large, level, wooded area where you can walk your dog in a quiet, peaceful, lovely space. The motel is on a main road going out of town, with lots of places to eat close by. It's just a few minutes to the little business district of Ashtabula and north to the lakeside parks. It was about 20 minutes from the wineries around Geneva and Madison that we wanted to visit, but it was an easy drive. We can't really think of any negatives! Well, we just realized that we forgot to tip housekeeping! She was a nice girl, and we're sorry---the next time we visit, we'll make up for it. :-) Hopefully, that will be soon!

I'll be honest, I was very surprised by how good the food was here. Ashtabula doesn't exactly come to mind when I think of fine dining, but Bascule Bridge pulled out all the stops. We loved the ambiance, our waiter was hilarious and attentive, and ev
