Cedar Grove Motel - Motel in Altoona - 1671 Bellemeade Dr, USA

Decided to get the red “romance” room for a night away, no heat till November I was told after, rooms are extremely dated but semi clean, had to get house keeping to drain tub bc it only works on a shut off valve. Price and it’s uniqueness is what attracted to us, and if that’s all you care about then it will work for you as well. They live in the office so service is exceptional. Overall and okay stay.

It's pretty far in greenwood by sheetz nothing to really do nor go especially in winter..there was 2 of us n only had few squares of toilet paper n one set of towels they wanted back before giving us other towel

Do not stay here!!! This place and the owners are a joke!!! We had room # 18 and it was a King size bed room and we woke up to find out we just slept in a bed (and have our stuff) in a bedroom with bedbugs!! So I quickly got my family and I out of there and notified the owner and you can tell by his voice he already knew and there wasn’t much concern except kicking us out as quickly as possible to get someone else in that room. We were prepaid for 7 day stay no refund so help ect. I’m not finished I’m going to the proper authorities and making sure something gets done and might just have a law suit started. But go to super 8 or rode way inn!! They are much nicer, way cleaner, and bedbug free 🤣

I was looking for an inexpensive, but clean room for one night. The room smelled clean. I think the carpet was scrubbed the day I checked in, which was nice. The owner/manager, I'm not sure which, was very friendly and accommodating. I blew a breaker in my room, which he fixed immediately. He even allowed me to check out later than their normal time, which he definitely did not have to do, and I greatly appreciated that. Sheetz is right across the street, which was nice. The motel is situated nicely, and felt safe and private, which made me feel better about traveling alone. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff was very nice . the stay the folliwing week cops banging on door made me come outside to question me at 10pm at night for no reason happened again 3 days later was harassed by local yocals holidaysburg annoying cops that looked like kids never again stay elsewhere you will get a better night sleep also bit up

The owners were very nice. But the shower was kinda broke. The shower spout barely had pressure. It was well kept. Room was cleaned and the a.c worked very well. Couple stains on the sheets but just used our own beddings. My daughter got bit by something and it swollened up really severe. Not sure if it was just a big spider or not but it worried me. But other then that it's in the budegting when you need a quick inexpensive room for the night.

Had no information about this place. Was a last minute decision. Needed a place to stay that also allowed my dog. Was there for 2 nights and was eaten alive by bedbugs. They denied it saying must be an allergy. I was out of there.

This place is very quiet, very clean and very convenient. The owners and staff are very friendly and hard-working. The owners live on-site. The beds are comfortable, too. It has a lot of old time charm to it because these types of family owned motels are falling by the wayside only to be replaced by boring cookie-cutter national chains. You feel like you are a cabin in the woods. There is a huge Sheetz right across the street that is open 24/7 for cheap hot food and snacks and morning coffee and donuts. I will definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. Why not support a local family business that harkens back to the way things used to be at one time in the USA. These experiences won't be around forever. If you don't want to experience anything other than the cookie-cutter boring big chains then stay away!! There are enough of us who appreciate this type of gem.
