We loved the 11 am Lantern Tour with Mariah!! She was a fantastic tour guide with great stories about the history and haunts in the cave. The Cave of The Winds has been open since 1881 so there is definitely a ton of history to talk about. As part of the tour, there is a 250 foot long area of the cave that you mostly have to stoop down because the cave is only 42” at the tallest. This area is the challenging part of the tour. The tour was a good 1 hour and 40 minutes long and well worth the price of admission. Thanks for the memories as we definitely had a GREAT time!! We will be back on our next trip to Colorado.

We did the Discovery tour, at $28 a person. That may be a little high, but this tour within the cave was absolutely stunning. It boasts 1/2 mile, and 196 stair steps. That may sound like a lot, but it wasn't. It is not handicap accessible simply due to being a cave, however if you are able to walk and climb semi-steep steps, this is worth it. You do NOT have to be in shape to do this tour. Autumn was our tour guide and she did an amazing job. She was kind, took time to explain different aspects of the cave and its history, and personally I thought her jokes were great. Highly recommend going. Children will love this but you should make sure they keep their hands to themselves as touching parts of the cave can damage the ecosystem and formation of the cave. Adults of all ages will love this as well- we did!

Had a wonderful day spending time at the Cave of the Winds Mountain Park. My group had Olive as a tour guide and she made the visit something to remember. I still have her funny cute jokes she made stuck in my head. Would recommend visiting the website to view any specials that may be available as well as the different tours they offer. Olive helped demonstrate what the "Haunted Lantern Tour", and it will be something I'll book in the future when I'm back in the area. Wonderful learning about the history and geology of the area and motives for search. After/before the tour, the mountain has many good views and a deck for viewing the scenery.

Amazing tours, lantern and non lantern alike. The guides were very informative and entertaining. There’s some tricky stairs along the way, but just pay attention and you’ll be perfectly fine. Cool water pools and stalactites/stalagmites. Even got to see their natural “oriental” rock garden. They also take photos at the beginning of the tour (available for purchase at the end)

My husband and I went here as part of our Honey Moon in Colorado. It was our first time visiting. We took a tour with Slim Jim! He was very informative, and very entertaining! We couldn't muster up the courage for the Terror-Dactyl this time, but maybe next time. I'm excited to bring my daughter back and take her with for the tour! Thanks for a great experience!

We had a very enjoyable tour of Cave of the Winds. We had a small tour group (11:45 on a Monday) and a great guide (Olive). She really made the tour fun and interesting for everyone. Spectacular views from the reception area before we ventured into the caves and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend you visit.

My boyfriend and I originally went on the discovery tour with Slim Jim. It was such a fun experience! We enjoyed learning the history of the Caves. They were amazing to see & crazy to imagine people crawling through these tiny spaces. We ended up taking the last haunted tour of the day. We went during the week so it felt like a private tour. It made everything feel sooo much spookier. Let’s not talk about the scary stuff we experienced in the caves while we were in there….It was such an awesome experience. We took the tour with… I believe her name was Chloe? Cleo? I think she had curly red hair. She was so amazing!! Thank you for the experiences! We’ll be back for sure!

We are family of 4(2 adults+2 kids, 10 and 6 y.o.) took the Discovery tour, and we really enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Dustin, was amazing! He provided good information to learn about caves, answered the questions. Also we liked his jokes. And the cave by itself is fantastic.

Love this trail. Only issue is there are only 3 parking spots close to the trailhead. It is most likely you will need to do paid parking a few blocks away.
