The Cave Mountain motel was a unique experience for us. It is literally right out of the 1950s. It only has 8 rooms and a small detached public area, so it never felt crowded.||The room we had was basic, with two twin beds, a dresser, nightstand and a TV in the corner. There was a good sized refrigerator but no microwave, coffeemaker or things like that. The AC unit was fully controllable and worked well. WiFi was free and definitely appreciated as the area is a Verizon dead zone.||The room may be small but it was all very clean. The owner obviously takes great pride in his property and it shows. Some reviewers commented that the traffic was noisy but, once the door was closed, we could not hear a thing. Getting a good nights sleep was easy.||Breakfast was included and the coffee was good. There were no ham and eggs but there were plenty of average things like oatmeal, cereal, yogurt etc. Even when we were the only couple on the property, the food was provided.||This review would not be complete without mentioning the cordial owner. He alone made our stay worthwhile. He was kind and personable. He told jokes, stories and gave area advice. Obviously he cared about his guests. It honestly felt like we were staying at a friends house and we were both sorry to have to leave.||So if you are tired of the large impersonal hotels with their high prices, noisy neighbors and slamming doors, give the Cave a try for a couple of nights. We are glad we did and you will be too.
Simple motel with a beautiful view of a mountain. Room was basic but clean. Shower is small but, again, clean. Everything was well worth the price. The owner is really what makes this place special. He was kind, funny and very personable. It was like staying with family. Skip the pricey noisy big hotels and give the Cave a try
You won’t find better for the price. Called night of and was able to book a room no problem. Not swanky but everything you need. Beds are comfortable and the general sense of homeyness was very refreshing. Beautiful location as well. To the people complaining about the breakfast being lackluster, IT’S FREE! Not worth messing up a family owned small motel’s rating over. Will be recommending to friends and family and will likely be back next time we’re in the area.
Straight forward, simple cosy and homely. Loved my few days here. Very laid back and relaxing. No airs or graces, just straightforward, friendly American hospitality. Of only all motel complexes were this good.
Had a great time! Going back this year finally. Looking forward to seeing Art and his Beautiful Bride. Bringing his favorite...... white castle.
This place was great. I enjoyed my stay. The room was very cozy, warm, had a fridge, and was clean. I came in the coldest weekend(-8F), and the room had an adjustable heating system, which was very helpful. This place also offered breakfast, and it had a lot of options, cereal, little cakes, coffee, etc. I highly recommend coming here if you think of doing activities around the area and saving some money. The owner was also very kind and even warmed up some water for me in the evening for some tea.
The people who own this place are lovely. The rooms are decent. But... and this is a HUGE but, they smoke inside. The lobby (their living room) smells like an ashtray. The kitchen where they have breakfast smells like an ashtray. THE TOWELS IN MY ROOM smelled like an ashtray. It was bad, so so so cigarette-y I went to Walmart and bought my own towels because I could not use the ones they gave me. I would NEVER stay here again, it smells terrible.
The Cave Mountain Motel is a quaint older stay over. The decor is old but very clean. This motel was very well suited for a ski trip in that the majority of your day is at the mountain and restaurants. The motel is very close to the town of Windham. The owners were lovely people and were ready with a hot cup of coffee and light breakfast when we woke up. Bring shampoo and conditioner, it is not supplied.
What a wonderful book shop, everytime i go in i find something i want to read, good kids section. They have note on the shelves from people about the books so you get a real persons review. Really helpful staff, so glad they came to the mountaintop
I am underplaying when I am saying this is the best breakfast I have had yet in my travels. This hidden gem in Windham is a must visit for anyone visiting the area. The daffles and the waffles were extraordinarily fresh and the owners were warm and g
Very easy, mostly flat, family friendly little hike/ walk. We walked but there were some families biking which seemed like a good idea. Some areas are shaded and some sunny.
Enjoyed a wonderful NYE weekend stay - this place is a gem! We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the space and the great people who run it. The rooms have great character and are clean and comfy. The staff is friendly, attentive, ready with recommen

An authentic french bakery! 42+ years of baking has really paid off. Iâm so glad I was able to stop by before heading back home. The macaroons come in a set for $27. They are a must here (also gluten free). They donât use food coloring in any of
A hidden gem in the Catskills! I was there this past summer and had the opportunity to tour both golf courses, dine at the restaurant and stay at the Inn. The owners are the nicest people, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food at the restaur
