It is always a nice park to visit. There are lots of walking spaces and parking lots. The lake view is amazing and relaxing. The view under the bridge is undescribed. I love visiting it and would love to be back soon

This sloping park has several circuits for walking. Some bikes pass through for the surrounding trails. The waterfront is undergoing transition with the removal of some old structures so the tide is coming in and out dragging much debris and driftwood. The water comes up much closer to the park than it used to so the beach is more narrow. Tons of space to spread out for a picnic or play ball or frisbee. The beach has some scattered abandoned camp grounds but enforcement in St. Johns and the weather (February) has that pretty largely reduced presently.

That was the best day! I went there to finish a book I was reading. Found a little shade tree on the bank next to the ramp. Saw some cool natural sights-a falcon hovered over the river just above me not more than 30 feet. Watched the barges, boats, ships and jet skis go by. And I caught a poem when I looked up and a lovely young woman was down the pier a ways preparing to get on her paddle board.

Cathedral Park is a breathe taking experience. The scale of the bridge is unexpected and a delight. Of course if you are using the boat ramp you will drive straight there, but I encourage you to leave your boat behind and park at the top of the park and meander down towards the river on foot. Such a beautiful way to see the park. Update: Wouldn't change review above, but vehicles are being stolen from boat ramp parking lot regularly. Be careful.

This is a very nice place to launch a boat. Enough room for three people to launch at a time. Limited trailer parking though. Can also bring a lunch for a nice picnic in the huge grassy area. Does have picnic tables and a bathroom.

Started and finished a boat charter here. Great access to Columbia and Willamette rivers.

It's a beautiful park. Could use some graffiti clean up, but otherwise great views of the St.John's bridge.

There's insufficient parking enforcement. During peak times, it's common for all vehicles to take up spaces specifically meant for vehicles with trailers. In fact, I've had to leave on occasion because I couldn't find a spot for my truck and trailer. As for the boat ramp, it's wide and spacious, but only one side is really functional for solo boat launching. The other dock is a bit too small, and for some reason, a large new section is closed off. This ends up causing long stays at the dock as boaters take extra time waiting for passengers. This, in turn, causes delays for others who are waiting to launch. So, I'd suggest getting there early on busy hot days, or using a different boat ramp.
