Cataloochee Ranch is the most beautiful venue in the world. The mountain views from the ceremony site are breathtaking and the newly renovated events space the “hayloft” at the barn is both well thought out and stunning. Even if we had bad weather (luckily it was sunny) the venue would have been perfect. They have an awesome back patio and there were friendly horses in the nearby field for great photos. The staff are amazing and took care of everything. They were so welcoming and attentive to our guests. The food was unbelievably delicious - both hors d’oeuvres and dinner. We were a little nervous about being the first wedding since they renovated the space, but the event team was helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process. If you love the smoky mountains, this is the place for you.

As the ranch is closed for renovations, my daughter (10) and I booked the 2.5 hour trail ride. Our family stayed at a nearby cabin. It was amazing, very beautiful, peaceful, and the horses were gentle. We rode up to the top, about 5400 ft. Nothing is better than exploring God's great country on horseback. We hope to return when the resort is open for lodging.

Wonderful experience with friends who know this ranch. Perfect weather, beautiful vista's, amazing horses and Maddie was a fabulous guide! Will definitely visit again!

My husband and I had a great time on our horseback riding trail ride today. The views we're amazing with the fall leaves still hanging on and our Guide Melinda did a great job leading us around the trails and sharing stories. Would highly recommend!

Had a fantastic experience with the 2.5 hour horseback ride, from booking through the day of our ride. Ashli was super helpful when I first inquired about booking and honest about our options for riding in the Maggie Valley area. Decided to book based on that and am so glad I did! My 8 year old daughter and I had an amazing time. The staff was super friendly, and made sure we were both comfortable with our horses. Melinda is a friendly, experienced guide who knows the area in and out, and gave us a ton of insight into the ranch and surrounding area as we rode. The horses were incredibly well cared for, calm and easy to ride. They know their job well, and it made for a very smooth and enjoyable experience for us as novice riders. One thing we really enjoyed was the terrain we covered on the ranch. From hills, to forest trails, to stunning views at the top of a bald, we got to experience a variety of scenery on our ride, which helped keep it all interesting. I highly recommend Cataloochee Ranch stables for families looking to try horseback riding in the Maggie Valley area - I know we'll be back!

We have stayed there many times. I can't wait until you open. First time there 1977.

We went to Cataloochee Ranch and stayed in the Pond House and we were even allowed to bring our Yorkie, Zoe with us. The Pond House is Awesome, the view is amazing and it is a very romantic place to stay. We had a shower and an awesome whirlpool tub. Double doors opened up to the view of the living room and the Mountains. Internet was awesome and they also had tv, just turned it on once. Breakfast and Dinner was included in our Package and Both were amazing. Horse back Riding was great, we went two days in a row, totally love it. If I could give them 10 stars I would. All of the staff and wranglers are top notch and treat you as a guest in their home. This is a must to when you come to Maggie Valley !

What a wonderful lodge. The views are unbelievable, the staff can't be beat, and the breakfast is incredible. We stayed in one of the cabins and loved it. This place is like stepping back in time and provides a great escape from the day to day grind. The property adjoins the ski area so just minutes from the cabin to the slopes. Look for "Ms. Sandie" at breakfast, she is awesome.
