Catalina Motel Corpus Christi, Texas - Motel in Corpus Christi - 4333 Ocean Dr, USA

This is a nice little hotel for the price point right on the Ocean drive in Corpus. The rooms were clean. The proprietor was friendly and helpful. The area is quiet and residential with an HEB within walking distance. If you're visiting Corpus on a budget, but want to be near the water - Catalina Motel - though on the older side - is a gem.

STAY AWAY. For your safety, stay away. We asked for a new room after another occupant stalked my girlfriend around the parking lot on 2 separate occasions. I caught him the 3rd time. Our new room, room 39, had a brutal smell and dysfunctional AC Unit, 2 live roaches and a huge dead one and some mosquitoes. Several stains on the sheets as well. We had to leave without staying the night. I’ve never asked for a refund in over 250 low budget hotel stays in my life. This was the first. We did not receive one. I was told I was a lier by manager Suresh Patel.

I had a pizza delivery and 3 Uber pickups and drop offs in the course of 2 days - literally no visitors and was told to leave because of the traffic.the rooms are hot,out dated and dirty. There was blood on the wall and cockroaches in the room. Do not recommend!

Place was haunted, stayed there for a night and good for a night. Couldn’t sleep well because A/C was making too much noise. Covers smelled like the sweat of the past guest and something yanked my covers, I had to bless the place. Manager and owner were super friendly. It had TV and WiFi though.

The rooms are clean and recently updated. There are problems with the floor, it needs to be reinforced or rebuilt but they didn't cause a problem during our stay. The location is perfect. There are grocery stores nearby and the drive to the jettys, bait shops and piers are short and easy. They have DirecTV and a nice television, a good refrigerator and microwave. There are hangers and a place to put your clothes up off the ground. The showers get hot and the shower heads seem like they keep them clean and in good working condition which is SO important coming in from the beach. The AC in the room works great. It's a very quiet spot in a nice area. We will be back to stay for our next fishing trip. Book through their website to make check in and changes to your reservation quick and easy. The hosts are so kind and welcoming. We showed up a day early for our reservations and they made the necessary changes on the spot and got us checked in quickly.

Very basic room, . The low cost and location are advantages and the good points. The mattress was exhave very basic needs, extremely firm . If you have basic needs ,this is the place.

We paid for a room and when we arrived the front desk advised us that there was no vacancy. We drove 6 hours to be turned away at the last minute!!’ Was told that it was not their problem and we needed to figure it out. Currently driving around looking for a new room!

Normally I’m one to give places a chance despite the bad reviews but this place unfortunately matches the reviews. We got here and I couldn’t stay more than 5 minutes in the room. After checking in we made it to the room and found it to be very hot. The window unit hadn’t been turned on making it uncomfortable in the room. When checking everything out our bedspread had a huge stain on it, there was roaches by the sink, the sink water smelled a bit funky and the standup shower in the restroom was covered in mold. I immediately went to check out.
