Super close to downtown. Lots of stuff within walking distance. Super good price. Service was fantastic. Rooms very clean. Bed very comfy. Only issue was the pillows are hard and comforter is scratchy. Other than that it was perfect!!
This little place surpassed all expectations. Staff are friendly, rooms are recently renovated and super clean. The towels are softer than any I've seen in a hotel. Super quiet at night. And at ~$100/night with tax it's a great value for an easy road trip stay.
Don't judge a book by the cover. On the outside this is a 1950s era motel that could probably use a little sprucing up. On the inside however it is one pleasant surprise after another.
When we arrived, the owner operator walked us personally to our room to give us a tour of the amenities just to make sure we had everything we needed.
We had read another review saying the mattresses were the best hotel mattresses they've ever slept in and I have to agree. Our room was large (two king beds) and the shower even had a rain showerhead for tall people.
If you choose to stay here you will be pleasantly surprised.
I was a little skeptical at first, but once I got inside my room, I realized just how nice and clean everything was! Alfonso's customer service was top-notch, and I highly recommend staying here. Thanks again for a great stay!
You can believe all of the glowing 5 star reviews you're seeing here - it's deserves every one of them. Our experience at the Castle Rock Hotel was amazing and one that we never expected.
While sitting in Cameron, AZ late at night on a long road trip vacation and after calling countless hotels from Page to Flagstaff (that were all full for the night) we found the Castle Rock Hotel and were relieved to learn that they had a room available so we headed south from Cameron not expecting much when we got there. We were dead wrong. The owner welcomed us in with a smile and personally walked us to our room to show us the features of the TV and (very responsive) mini-split AC to make sure our stay would be comfortable. As I was walking out the door to move our rental car a little closer he quickly moved his car (it’s a small lot) to allow us to park even closer to our room. The room, by the way, was the absolute cleanest we’ve ever seen in a hotel room. The bed was comfortable and the directly overhead rain-shower shower head was so nice the next morning to help us feel refreshed and ready for another long day on the road. When we checked out the attendant cheerfully called us back as he had a gift for us (a koozie with their logo on it) which we thought was just icing on the cake of our stay. Our cost for the room was less than any of the chain hotels and much nicer than any one of them would have been. Book a room here now, you won’t regret it.
This is an absolutely beautiful motel! It’s definitely a hidden gem. Price is phenomenal, rooms are freshly remodeled, staff is exceptionally friendly and kind! The owner offered to store my son’s bike for free in his unit so it couldn’t be stolen from the car bike rack overnight and until we completed freshman orientation at NAU. Rainfall shower, new carpets, it’s perfect! The only downside was no microwave in the room but it’s just inside the main office so not inconvenient and kept teens from late night snacking 😂 this motel is 5 mins from the center of NAU and from the center of main old downtown flagstaff. It’s perfect!
It's a great budget hotel. Beds and pillows comfy, it was clean, had been remodeled nicely, and included bottles of water.
A couple of things that could be addressed...no hairdryer, when I stay at a hotel I've come to expect one. And though the water bottles were much appreciated, there were no disposable cups. Another item we've come to expect. I didn't mark down for this as I believe it's an easy fix and doesn't apply to all travelers.
This is a great place. We were so pleasantly surprised. We were stuck in Flagstaff on a Sunday night with vehicle problems. Castle Rock was right across the street from where our vehicle was towed. Anyway, I recommend the Castle Rock Hotel. It's a small intimate, newly remodelled place and run by the owners very well.

This hotel is so fun! Kids loved the rooms with disco lights and nostalgic throwback decor! Fire pit under the stars or throw some bags! Though a bit chilly the kids loved the 80 degree pool and managed even with it only being 39 degrees out. Pet fr

Maybe the best chain hotel in town. Walk a couple of blocks to plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. Beautiful, clean, spacious and light rooms. Nice breakfast, with friendly staff there and at check in. Upgraded to a corner suite.
I was pleasantly surprised! The lobby was lodge-y themed with a large wood-burning fireplace. Front desk was very helpful. The room was spacious (2 queens and pullout couch) and included a coffee bar area with Keurig, fridge, microwave, and safe tuck
I won a bet with my buddy about who had the best burrito in town. I made him eat an El Mayor from Tres Amigos. He looked me dead in the eyes and said: "you win".
Gracie Barra Flagstaff has been such a great place to watch our son learn fundamentals of life, safety and become more confident as a 6 year old. We've only been here since January 2023 and we have enjoyed every part of being involved in this academy
