An absolutely amazing experience. This is a beautiful house and the owners are so incredibly kind. Breakfast was to die for, the wine I ordered was SO worth it and paired amazingly with the delicious chocolates. It is the cleanest place I’ve stayed, the bed was very comfortable, and it was quiet. I could only hear my neighbors once and it was before it got late. Having three kids and getting a weekend away, I was so thankful young children aren’t allowed. Go visit the castle. You will not regret it Thank you so much, Billy and Brandon.
My husband and I returned to the Castle La Crosse (the Castle), our favorite place away from home. The Castle was clean, quiet, elegant, and inviting. All the holiday decorations added warmth of the season. The breakfast was delicious and it was presented like artwork (see photo). Every corner of the Castle showed lovingly care by the wonderful Innkeepers, Billy and Brandon. We particularly appreciate their attention to details and their accommodation in response to our unique request. As world travelers, we have stayed in many B&Bs, the Castle La Crosse is THE BEST! Thank you, Billy and Brandon, for sharing your beautiful place with us. We will return again and again. Have a fantastic 2024!
What a lovely place! Wonderful hosts! Excellent breakfast! Loved the history and beautiful woodwork. Located close to wonderful restaurants. Our short stay was a needed relaxing break from work. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Stayed here for a late anniversary getaway. In love with this place! Beautiful and lovingly cared for home. Our room (Walnut) was stunning and so comfortable. Billy and Brandon were superb hosts. They thought of everything from games and interesting books in our room to the most delish breakfast! Very quiet and relaxing stay in a gorgeous castle. We were treated like royalty! Very interesting history to this house that Billy and Brandon are happy to share. Loved looking at all the details of the rooms on the ground floor and viewing all their collected art and decor. Can’t wait to go back for a longer stay in the future!
My husband and I stayed at Castle LaCrosse for our 39th anniversary. What a beautiful location! It is a truly elegant home that is clearly well-loved by its owners, filled with artistic treasures and furniture, Breakfasts were inventive, delicious and rivaled that of any fine restaurant. The room was spacious and thoughtfully appointed, with a comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom. Our small porch was a wonderful place to enjoy cocktails on a crisp fall day. Billy took the time to walk us through the history of this mansion, which was greatly appreciated. We will stay again.
A stretch for us to afford, we enjoyed our stay very much. It truly does look like a castle in person, and renovated with a design plan appropriate for the most opulent Victorian, that can also feel welcoming. Brandon and Billy were both wonderful hosts, the breakfast was delightful, and their eyes for the smallest details in their renovations are incredible. You can come in and simply enjoy your beautiful private room for the joy it is, or wander the open areas of the house enjoying art from around the world, as well coffee table books about everything from antiques to historical buildings, Wisconsin in general to Lacrosse proper, and France to notable individuals from history.
One word: incredible!! I highly recommend this bed and breakfast!! The castle is a jaw-dropping historic treasure...lovingly and effectively reinvigorated by the innkeepers, Billy and Brandon. The wood work (from floor to ceiling) is truly remarkable...including the grand staircase, which is indeed grand. It's easy to see that this home was built by a lumber baron (in the late 1800s)...the use of different woods throughout the house is a wow. The home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with off-street parking...both highly advantageous to peace of mind. The innkeepers, Billy and Brandon, were wonderful hosts...interested and interesting without veering into intrusive...they were adept at reading the guests and used the right touch with each set. Our room (the walnut suite) was stunning as well as immaculately clean (something of a rarity post-Covid)...the bed was very comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. And the gourmet, multi-course breakfasts were to die for...Brandon - a talented and trained chef - is a genius with both savory and sweets. His creations were not only delicious, but also inventive. Brandon's culinary creations were complemented by Billy's friendly, attentive service. Together, they are an unbeatable team of hospitality. Breakfast was a dining experience, not merely a meal. During each day of our stay, we were seated in a different room of the inn...this added to our enjoyment. I'll be honest: I cannot wait to return! I would love to stay in each of the five guest rooms...they all looked inviting. Do yourself a favor: plan a visit to the castle!
I only stayed one night but wished it was longer. We stayed in the Oak Suite, and it was beautiful. The room was very spacious as was the bathroom. I enjoyed the small lounge/nook. I very much enjoyed the fact that the first floor was open to everyone. I spent a long time wandering around looking at the intricate woodwork. The breakfast was to die for. It was a multi-course meal, and I left feeling very full and satisfied. The hosts were exceptional, and I had so much fun learning the history of the house. I could not recommend this place more, and I will absolutely be back.|Just a couple of things to note: It was chilly in the common areas of the house, so if you get cold easily and you're going in the fall/winter, pack a sweater and warm socks/slippers! The parking is kind of tight. If you have a large vehicle, plan to park on the street. I have a Honda Pilot and it was a squeeze to get through the driveway. These are in no way cons but just things to keep in mind.

Overall a great ole time ice cream parlor! A few faults but the price makes up for them! The vibe inside this building is beautiful, with its old wood theme and vintage appliances it truly feels like you were taken back a few dacades. There were ma
