We just got back home from a long labor day weekend visit. ||The ride from northern suburbs of Illinois was absolutely horrendous when it came to traffic. However within 15 minutes of arrival, all stress was gone and relaxation started. At that point I realized what a gem this place would be. ||We stayed in the Kingdom Suite on the second floor of the outer building, the Castle building. It was large and beautiful! So much ambiance and super clean. We were extremely happy with this room and building. ||The grounds are great. We sat outside each night on the large wrap around balcony and just chatted. Yeah it's a Michigan highway so there is traffic but nothing we weren't used to. We really enjoyed nights out there. ||We made the quick 40 minute drive to Holland on Sunday after breakfast. We walked the cute downtown and then headed to downtown Saugatuck. Only a 20 minute drive from Holland. This was way more crowded and a little sensory overload for myself. Since it was a long worn out day, we actually picked up a pizza from downtown Allegan for dinner. We brought it back to Castle in the Country and grabbed a couple of drinks and ate our pizza in the perfect cozy gazebo. This was a perfect ending and we were very happy we decided to enjoy the grounds more.||This bed and breakfast is fantastic. The food and service were amazing and super friendly hosts. We will definitely pass along our recommendation to friends and family and will definitely be back.

My new husband and I just spent a weekend here for our honeymoon. We LOVED this place! We stayed in the Sir Lancelot and the room was gorgeous including a two person jet tub that was so relaxing. Our couples massage was phenomenal! The in house breakfast was delicious. We took a stroll to the back of the property to the screened in little house by the lake for our picnic lunch. It was private and very relaxing. Spencer was very nice and accommodating during our stay! Our package included a dinner voucher. We chose Principle Food and Drink in Kalamazoo and it was one of the best meals either of us has ever had. This B&B was about a half hour drive from the beach and also Gun Lake Casino. I will absolutely come back and stay here again, maybe for our anniversary!

We celebrated our second wedding anniversary here. We stayed in the King Arthur room. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Our breakfasts and picnic lunch were very good. Also, couples massage was great. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. We had a much needed restful two days Thank you for your impeccable hospitality. Special thanks to Spencer and Cailyn. We will be definitely returning. Craig and Elise

A little off the beaten path, but it's a delightful little b&b. The staff were incredibly accommodating and personable. They even went so far as to create a custom breakfast every morning to accommodate a food allergy. I spent the vast majority of my time out near Lake Michigan, but I really enjoyed being able to come back and take a walk through the woods every night. If you're looking for a quiet getaway in the country, with relatively close access to the surrounding cities, give it a go!

As we celebrate our 10 year Anniversary at the place we got married, we are so grateful in finding this place. Ruth,Herb,Spencer,Cailyn and the rest of the staff are the best. Always easy to talk to and friendly. Whether its asking a question about our stay or helping choose a place to eat they are always helpful and friendly. After 11 years of staying at Castle we always have the best time. Every stay is top notch and absolutely amazing. This is our favorite place to stay as we are always looking forward to our next visit. This place is beautiful year round, the rooms are amazing, and the breakfast is outstanding. Castle is the best, thank you for another perfect stay, see you in the fall.

We were there for our 38th anniversary. Spencer was a terrific host. We loved the charm of the main house and stayed in the Golden Tower Room. We were pleased with the delicious breakfast each day and enjoyed our picnic lunch. We had our first message, Rose and Anita made us feel soooo relaxed. Not a spec of dust anywhere, not even the gazebo by the lake. We ate at the Grill House locally, where I had the best French dip then Butch’s Dry Dock. We took in Lake Michigan, cherry picking and antiquing while we were there. We will be back next year.

My now husband and I picked the weekday Elopement package and stayed in the Royalty Suite June 3rd - June 5th. The suite was everything we had hoped for. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. Breakfast was brought to our room which I must say, was delicious and the picnic basket full of goodies was a nice touch. The day of the ceremony, the staff handled everything making our big day stress free! Meg even got my husband to smile for a few pics which is a challenge in itself!

This was our very first B&B experience and it was absolutely perfect! We had been contemplating it for years and finally did it...if you're doing the same...my advice...DO IT! The room was exceptional, staff went beyond to ensure you had everything you needed and things you didn't even know you wanted! The bed was so comfortable and we slept so well! The linens were soft and inviting. And the Breakfasts were out of this world delicious! Every detail was perfect, and you can tell the owners and staff have taken every effort to ensure every little detail sparkles! We enjoyed every minute of our weekend getaway! The location was perfectly nestled in a quaint country setting and the property gorgeous. We enjoyed hiking the trails around the property. Next time we come we hope to come in the summer so we can try the kayaks on the lake. A few weeks before our stay, Spencer had called to let us know of a few amenities that were available during our stay and we decided to book a 1 hour couples massage which was exactly what we needed. I am so glad he called and offered this to us! I can not wait to come back to the Castle in the Country B&B!

Very quiet and nice, however it lacks decent public access to a bathroom. The play ground is well kept, but the benches could use some love. Overall it's fun to visit the library then let the kids burn off energy in the park.
