I went to Castiglia’s for a Friday evening dinner with my friends and we had a great time. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg and has a cozy and lively atmosphere. They had live music playing, which added to the ambiance. We were seated quickly and the service was friendly and attentive. We started with their cheese sauce and breadsticks, which were amazing. The cheese sauce was creamy and flavorful and the breadsticks were warm and soft. For our main course, we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza, but it didn’t come out with chicken. I’m pretty sure it was a buffalo chicken pizza. We were a bit disappointed, but the pizza still tasted good. The crust was thin and crispy and the sauce was spicy and tangy. The beers were great too, cold and refreshing. The only downside was that they had too many menus. The table was littered with menus. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Castiglia’s and would recommend it to anyone looking for a casual and fun Italian dining experience.
Excellent all around!! Food was really good. Service was excellent and wait time reasonable. We'll be back. Great choice for a first time day trip up from Richmond.
I have to give this restaurant a three star review for several reasons. First of all the pizza was mediocre at best. It was not terrible by any means, but I have had better pizza at Little Caesars or at the mall. For what I paid for the food. It just was not very good. The french fries were awesome though. Also the service. my server was very friendly however, he was also tending the bar at the same time so I had to actually get up to request my check when I was done eating and my drink cup was not kept full. The atmosphere here was amazing. It was neat eating out on the rooftop. However, the mediocre food and the poor service. I doubt I will be back. The bathroom here was very clean and the toilet was nice but other than that I don’t think I’ll come back. Also the staff did sing happy birthday to another patron which was a nice touch.
We came to try the food for a possible rehearsal dinner. We will not be having the rehearsal dinner there. It was very loud! Our entree's did not come out together. The artichoke dip appetizer was delicious, however, a small amount of chips were given for the good amount of dip; so we need more chips and we're charged an additional $2 for a handful of chips. It was $16 for a square of lasagna with no bread. The calzone was huge. The surf and turf had a little left to be desired and yes the salad was fresh. Meaghan, our waitress, was great!
Worked in a busy bar / restaurant for 5+ years. I came to Castiglia’s from out of town, excited to be in a new place eating new food. Intended to sit at the bar, have some dinner, drinks, fun, and to be generous. Instead, I had the worst dining experience of my life. It took well over 10 minutes for our existence to be acknowledged, the bartenders actually looked past me enough times I asked the couple next to us if I was invisible. When I finally got service the bartender didn’t even stay long enough to hear my full drink order. We never got menus, no waters, no coasters, no ‘hi’ or even a single solitary smile. I had to order food to go from the host because the bartenders were THAT incompetent. To make matters worse, the second bartender would watch the entrance more then the sitting patrons, and would literally leave the bar to greet people she knew as they came in, like long lost friends, meanwhile I’m trying to do circus tricks for a glass of water (never got it). Food was mediocre (wife hated it) and terribly overpriced. The only night spot was the young host Diego who was very nice. We sat at the bar for 45 minutes, was served only one drink (not from lack of trying), and honestly probably had the bartenders attention for approximately 20 seconds total. I have to come back to this town eventually for work, I genuinely expect this place to be closed by the time I return. The service here was offensive joke. 0/10 avoid at all costs.
Family style Italian restaurant. Casual. A little noisy. There's an upstairs deck but it was a hot day and there were a lot of kids up there so we opted to sit inside downstairs. Pizza was huge. Crust was ok. Loved the Alfredo noodles.
2nd time coming here and have been blown away with great food, service, and drinks. Reasonable prices and filling pizzas Kid friendly.
Pretty good place. Brick oven pizza is okay... dough needs some work. Lacks that traditional tug usually affiliated with authentic Italian wood fired cooked pizza. I really like leftover pizza cold next morning for breakfast... this didn't do it for me. I'd go back, but not in a rush to do so. Oh... we sat on the roof... that was cool. Service was great, they were really busy, took almost an hour to get our 2 pizzas. The menu said they were 12" pizzas... wrong, bigger than that. We each ordered separately due to what menu said... we could have split a pizza.

We visited for the first time at Bravo for lunch! Our Margherita flatbread was crisp, fresh and very tasty. The meatballs and ricotta tasted like they were homemade, and came with garlic crostini. (Highly Recommend). The complementary bread and dip
