We were very happy about our experience here, I stayed here last weekend of the 12th and 13th of May. Was in town for a paranormal investigation and stayed here the night of the 12th. Patrick was a amazing host who was knowledgeable and very friendly and provided a wonderful breakfast in the morning as well. Had any questions he was willing to answer or find out. I was from out of state and was looking for places to visit he gave me recommendations for places to visit. I definitely recommend staying here. It's a beautiful historic house very well maintained and clean.
Definitely a home full of rich Toledo History! Patrick was very knowledge of the home and the Toledo area, not to mention a great chef for breakfast!! It’s wonderful to see the area refurbishing the historic homes! Keeping this history alive, of this great nation.
Don't let the surrounding neighborhood scare you at all. It's quiet and the house has its own parking lot. I stayed in the Pomeroy room, but hope to stay in one of the larger rooms the next time I go. I got to see all of the rooms (no one else was staying during my time there) and all of them are lovely in different ways. One thing I found surprising is how quickly the shower temperature got hot. It was instant. I learned from Stu, the architect that has been working on the restoration for nearly 2 decades, that the house has a unique water recirculating system...no hot water tank, the water just circulates around the house, 24/7. Amazing infrastructure, literally behind the scenes.||||Absolutely stunning restoration. If you are a fan of historic homes (and I am!), then this place will amaze you in size and the scope of the work. A labor of love and a lovely place to stay, with great hosts.I had a great time having quiet breakfasts with one of the innkeepers (Toni). I plan to return and bring my husband with me next time. Recommend 100%.
AMAZING. If you’re thinking about going here, do it!!! Patrick is so knowledgeable and interesting. The history of the house and Toledo as a whole is fascinating and he will tell you all about it. The rooms are spectacular, beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms are spotless and lovely, and Patrick’s homemade breakfast is unbeatable. There’s even a fancy golf cart that can bring you places!!
This was by far the coolest place I’ve stayed. A large part due to Patrick the amazing innkeeper. He has an amazing amount of knowledge on the city of Toledo and the history of the Casey-Pomeroy. It made staying there an extremely rich and unique experience. He’s also a phenomenal cool and the breakfast beats any breakfast you’re gonna receive at a typical hotel. I’m thrilled we encountered this gem, and can’t articulate fully what a great experience it was to stay here.
We stayed in the grand suite for a few days and really enjoyed ourselves. The room was quite large and comfortable. The windows allowed a nice warm breeze into the room. The bed was large and comfortable. Patrick was so nice, willing to answer any questions and show off all his crazy cow graphics. Breakfasts were good. There wasn't a whole lot really close by to the bed and breakfast, but it wasn't difficult to get around town and the parking at the B&B was nice too.
Absolutely gorgeous facility that doesn't get enough exposure - this is the best place to stay in Toledo. The gigantic, very old building is almost overwhelming and is restored beautifully. Staying there is amazing just for the experience of "living" in a 14,000 sq ft Victorian mansion. The Innkeeper, Patrick, is the best part of this operation - he is one of the most interesting guys I've ever met - thoroughly engaging and charming and just gifted at what he does. I understand it's up for sale now and I seriously hope the future owners keep it operating and keep Patrick running it, because I don't want to stay anywhere else when I return.
We felt all the vibes this bed and breakfast gives out....original families who owned the house, the diocese use for school and religious staff, and the modern day restorers. It’s almost like the house is saying, “Through all the years of changes...I’m staying on this block, surrounded by my beautiful gardens and, look, how everyone in the area is making Toledo new again.” ||Great location to explore Toledo. We enjoyed the quietness of the house, and of course all the special decorating and furniture. Patrick, the innkeeper displays his fondness for the house, and immediately makes you feel at home.||Why stay at an impersonal, modern location, when you can stay here and feel so much history and hospitality?
