I recently booked a reservation at this hotel and while the staff was friendly, I think the staff may need to focus on the cleanliness of the rooms a bit more. The mattress was stained, and the cover didn't seem to be changed after each guest. The location was also not ideal. I recommend staying closer to Ventura Beach Pier.
I was very uncomfortable with leaving my car due to a few things 1. A homeless girl looks like she is staying in one of the tennis courts and on drugs and was walking around rooms 129-132 trying doors 2. There was a guy in the front in a Toyota looked good he was selling drugs out of his car. 3. Near the pool there was a strong smell of weed. 4. At night near the gate close to the pool there is a few people on bikes that we’re dealing drugs and was pointing at my suv. At 9pm I made the decision to leave due to my safety and security.
Great room which recently have been renovated. Only bad thing I could say is the bathroom door is a farm door which is very noisy in the middle of the night.
The exterior is really cute and quaint looking. The rooms are somewhat updated and more modern looking. The rooms are very spacious. The beds are comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. They are in the middle of updating the lobby and breakfast area.

Big room, cleaning every day, friendly staff. Swimming pool and small gym area. Our room was quiet so street noise didnt disturb.
Clean comfortable rooms. Nice pool and hot tub. Good fitness room. 6 tennis courts! Good location if you want to be near Channel Islands tours. Many restaurants nearby. Fairly quiet area. Lobby was being remodeled. Cantina sign out front but no Cantina. No breakfast. No microwave. Would stay here again. Room safe. Fridge.
My wife and I read all the negative and positive reviews, we decided to stay here and were glad we did. Nancy the assistant manager was the most courteous and attentive person. We did not expect breakfast since we did notice they had been remodeling but did make sure to request extra towels and received them no problem. The pool was wonderful and the kids loved it, we are also fairly close to the beach and a great park for the kids. All in all it was a great stay, only thing is the floors do get dirty because they are textured wood floors and you must ask them to give them a second cleaning. A possible mistake made when remodeling the hotel, either way we will stay here again. Thank you
