I had a friend staying there so i can't give a real rating however compared to other motels in that area this is one of the better ones. Its quiet & the owner tries not to allow the rif raf in. The rooms r clean but dated.
Newly renovated rooms, very neat & clean. Flat screen tv, very clear channels, comfortable bed. Decent sized shower & hot water. Kind staff. Very quiet place. A/C works perfectly. Decent prices. No problems at all. 10/10 recommend. Will definitely be back! 😊
I've seen many reviews of motels that were horror stories. The Casa Loma Motel is the cleanest motel I've ever used. I've been using this motel for 20 years and have stayed in all the rooms. It's the only motel I will use if there are rooms available. Even though it may fall into the category of cheap motel, its clean, bug free; if you do see a bug, it's likely it was brought there by a customer. It has free WiFi, it has extensive cable stations, it has a fridge and microwave and of course an AC that can be used as a heater when it's cold. No, it's not perfect and it's an older building, but you can get very comfortable here. They have about five rooms that they use exclusively for weekly stays. As of August 5, 2018, the rooms are $55.00 a night and $300.00 a week for the weekly rooms. Other motels in the area are expensive and disgusting. I've developed a relationship with the owners and they are very nice and accommodating. Anyone who is from Tampa knows about the going-ons on Nebraska avenue but the owners do a good job of keeping shady activity off their property. I know this is a lengthy review but I know someone will appreciate my thoroughness for whomever is looking for a cheap, but clean motel. EDIT: They raised their prices per night. Unless it has changed again, the rooms are 70.00 a night and they require a 10.00 deposit for the TV remote. All the rooms have a strong cigarette smell which ends up on your clothes and hair.
One of few clean (yet still dirty) motel rooms available on good old Nebraska. Nosey owners and can't have any visitors. No music is allowed to be played while you stay. The wife comes off as snooty though I think it's a front because it's her self defense mechanism. Husband is nicer. One roll of toilet paper per day. Low on towels, just one set per couple. No phone in room. Small fridge microwave and desk with a chair. WOW! What can you expect for $70/day. Stay at your own risk. Remember it is on Nebraska. At least they have cable and you can enjoy the solitude.
Casa Loma is one of those special gems you don't find so often anymore these days. My lover and I had a wonderful time here and I imagine any business traveler would find it relaxing. There is an amazing Bossa Nova group that plays from late morning to around 9 pm. It lends to the atmosphere. The landscaping is current and modest with nice splashes of color. Most notable would be the Troilla Fountain replica and the Turtle Garden in the vestibular addendum section of the East Wing Study. The staff is friendly and courteous, with multiple languages spoken, and able to assist with most duties. The room service provides the standard fare with an inconspicuously playful Clam Rouge Antipasto and a wide selection of Napa Valley and Czechoslovakian wines that are served by the box or by the bottle. Our conference room was spacious with comfortable seating and good light. There is a nice projector for laptops and a great wifi signal as well (although some areas weren't as great) and local fax service. The local nightlife is fun and offers a wide range of dining options. There are some wonderful miniature golf courses with all manner of fiberglass animals in various whimsical poses. We managed to take in an afternoon gondola ride at the docks for $12 and then hit some of Phil's Jetski Paintball. This is a truly unique experience where you and your friend ride around on jetskis and shoot each other with non-toxic paintballs. Probably a better idea for after the meetings are done. There is a world-class croquet course near the riverfront with beautiful swans and flamingos that constantly fight for food, turning the waters red. There are dog runs for the pet-minded, but I would caution against them as they are not monitored and we were witness to a Papillon being viciously mauled while onlookers merely laughed. We did enjoy the spacious dung bins scattered around the city. If you enjoy a fine cigar, a trip to The Toasted Leaf would be in your interest as it lies a mere three blocks away and provides massive discounts on our cancerous friend. All in all a great stay and a wonderful place for business conventions. There is plenty to do locally and the staff is helpful and the facilities are clean.
We relied on above reviews. If you bothered to look at reviews, I can tell you this place isn't for you. I can't believe this place is licensed. We brought a blanket from the trunk of our car b/c we didn't want to touch the sheets. If you are brave enough to use the bathroom, there's no toilet paper, no towels of any kind and a chip of used soap. It smells like a 40 year old ash tray. We left hours before checkout b/c the smell was so bad. Spend the extra $20 for a Holiday Inn Express or something you know. There are ZERO standards here, should be shut down.
Do not stay unless your a Felon. Cigarette smells in room wholes in the bed sheets. Bathroom looked like a 3rd world bathroom. The whole room with a strong oder of cigarettes. Asked to change rooms was talked rudely back by the manager.Dont understand the good reviews might just book another reservation just to show and take pics of the room. So people wont make the same mistake I did coming here. Also a drug dealer outside his room receiving drug deals from cars pulling up. I saw all this in 1 hour I was there. :/
The room was very clean, they are smoking rooms so you could smell smoke. The lady at the office was super nice. Pillows are super thin but for $55 we are satisfied with the room for the night!
