Casa Grande Ruins National Monument - National reserve in Coolidge - 1100 W Ruins Dr, USA

Very glad we made this stop during our travel in the area. Being able to directly see history makes so much more of an impact compared to just reading about it. We watched the informative short movie before touring outside. We walked around on our own, but there are ranger guided tours. We went on a week day toward the end of January and it was not crowded at all. We had our 5th wheel attached and could get around in the parking lot fine.

I appreciate this place so much. It’s got so much history. They have a guided tour in case you are interested, otherwise, there is no cost to go through and check out the museum and walk around the ruins.

I flew to Arizona for a weekend getaway. While driving from Phoenix to Tucson, the sign for Casa Grande Ruins National Monument caught my eye. I'm so glad I took that detour. It's quite a drive down 87 in Coolidge, but you are greeted by a passionate and friendly staff when you walk thru the doors. There are plenty of items in the gift shop, and our tour guide (Preston) was AMAZING! History provides context for human existence and helps you appreciate the current day even more. Check out the Great House. You won't be disappointed! P.S. The tours are FREE!!! Plus, here's a fun fact: The builders of the great house carried pine trees 🌲 60 miles from Mt. Lemmon. They didn't float them either. Fascinating!

We stopped here on the way from Phoenix to Tucson. It was easy enough to get to from the highway. We weren’t sure what to expect but so happy we went there. It’s a very historic place and helps tell the story of the culture. There’s a museum that is well worth visiting. It’s not too big so you can go through it without committing a lot of time. Outside are the ruins that date back to the early days of the Native Americans. The ruins are also worth visiting. There was an employee there who could answer questions etc. There’s a gas station, some shopping available a few miles away. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

This was a nice little spot. I stopped here on my quest to get a magnet from every state and national park in Arizona. They have a nice little gift shop and a little museum. The museum was closed for remodel when I was there, but I could still see in and it looks like it would have been interesting. They have a theater where they show a 20 minute movie about the ruins. I did not attend. The ruins themselves are within walking distance of each other and it's interesting to imagine the people who lived there while standing in their house. It was free to get in and worth a stop if you are in the area.

There is so much history in this area. Happy this site was preserved for us all to learn and enjoy. The ruins are the center piece, humbling to look at what was being created 700 years ago. The visitor center provides additional perspective... try to catch the 25 minute history video when you are there.

Highly recommended! So much more than I was expecting! More ruins than I expected, but also didn't realize there was a museum. Make sure you catch the movie in the museum; it is very informative. No admission fees, but please consider making a donation.

Nice park. Taking great care of it. Good visitors center. Very nice staff. Place is very interesting and easy to get around in.
