The Casa Del Herrero (House of the Blacksmith) is a Time Machine back to the 1920’s and 30’s in Montecito, CA. Wrapped in the history, stories, and amazing facts of a time few of us think about. From handmade tiles to ceilings transported from churches in Italy, this home is made of magic. Thought and attention to detail is applied to every inch of the grounds, including the garden used for moonlit strolls under the full moon. A home filled with love, artistry, and community (And a workshop that made me green with jealousy). This place is a reminder of just what a home can be. More than just walls keeping the weather out but a fanciful world that provides rest and creativity, inspiring others even when the owners are long gone. If you get a chance to do the 90-minute tour you need to. It's a magical experience!
Great location for a get-together with friends. Friendly staff. Very clean property. Looking forward to hosting my 360 booth here again.
Someone said this is a smaller version of Hearst Castle. In some ways yes. Antiques curated by the same person, but this is much more intimate and personal. I loved this place. Highly recommend if you are interested in Santa Barbara, California, or Spanish history or architecture.
Beautiful spanish furniture inside the home. No pictures allowed inside only outside. Too bad! Great detail went into the customizing the home.
Unique place with rich history. Worth the wait. Hard to get in due to village limitations. Book in advance.
Jane Defnet led the tour and she was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic giving us the details. A lovely experience. We will recommend to others.
Very interesting historical George Washington Smith property in amazing original condition, like in a time capsule. Gardens and workshop also very nice and worth seeing. Excellent docent-led tours. Well worth the wait to get a reservation.
Incredibly special. Like an intimate Hearst Castle. If u love the decorative arts and appreciate Spanlsh Revival architecture, beautiful details and local history this is for you. Our guide Sally was amazing.

One of my favorite beaches I've ever been to. Went with friends on a random day and there were a handful of people there. Easy parking by the street and stairs down or if you're feeling adventurous take a small jump down from the wall. Nice to walk
I was able to visit Jeannine's for breakfast and it is such a cute, cozy restaurant and bakery. I went twice in the week and both mornings I was able to walk in with only 1-2 people in front of me. The menus are at front for you to grab and while yo
This is one of the most beautiful parks I've been to! My daughter in law reserved area 6 for my Grandson's 3rd birthday. The park ranger came by to greet us as we were decorating, and he let us know where the bathrooms were, the water spigot, and sho
