Watched a Carson band One Way Street outdoors. It was awesome and the staff was great! Phil and his wife own this woodsy Cabin Resort. Not a fancy resort. No pool or fancy restaurant. Rugged accomodations if camping is your thing

Wow, what a wonderful place to do so much..... We took our 10 yr old grandson to his first trip "in the mountains" and for a peaceful retreat for ourselves. Can't say enough about the owners and staff!!! Other reviews are accurate about how they continuously go the extra mile for their guest's comfort. Our cabin was rustic, just as I'd hoped. Our cabin, and probably most of others, have private bathrooms, although I used the outside bathroom to shower one night only because my husband was impressed with the water pressure there. Everything there is very clean. ||||While we were there, we tried out our novice fishing skills on the river. It had rained a lot the prior 2 weeks so although we didn't have a lot of luck, we watched the experienced guys bring in beauties each day. Indian Creek Reservoir is a beautiful location for "family fishing" and it is stocked regularly just as the River is by the Resort. Our grandson loved Grovers Hot Springs which is just down the road. But he also just loved hanging out here too... Lot||||Finally, for us the best part was returning to our cabin and enjoying the Resort's best features: the sound of the river and trees rustling while we prepared food on the outdoor grill, enjoyed evening campfires, and met really interesting folks on both sides of our cabin.

Stayed a couple days in the River Cabin as we have for the past 10+ years. It has always been a good experience and it is nice to have the river right out the door. The price has gone up to $280.00 a night, which is extrememly overpriced for what you get. They have done some maintenance on the cabin but for that kind of money I can go to Carmel, have wine and cheese, and breakfast in the morning. Here, some of the windows don't have screens on them which allows a million bugs to come in when the indoor lights are on. The stove is about to fall apart with at least on of the burners not working. We also had an issue with what we were charged and when we called the lady she said everything was fine. We can not come up with her charges no matter how we do the math. Anyway, if you have lots of extra money to spend on a mediocre cabin, this is the one for you. When we stayed there at $190.00 a night we thought that was high but OK. At $280.00, not again. Been coming to the Carson River for over 50 years. ||Also, you can't see anything on their website as it has been down for weeks and weeks, so there is no way to verify any information. Very sad and disappointed.

We had a wonderful time here; they have full hookup RV and trailer spots, as well as cabin rentals and nice tent spots right on the river. Very impressed with the Just how family-friendly and welcoming they are. We spent Memorial weekend up here with our four kids. We went fishing, we went to the hot springs, we had an amazing time. The first time and we'll definitely be back.

We used to camp here during trout season a few years back. Management changes, fires, and a lack of fish plants sent us up the road to "free" camping. Tried again last weekend and was pleasantly surprised at our stay. Very few people in the campground and plenty of fish. New management is a bit "different" as some posts (bad attitude from the Mr.), but nothing really concerning. The porta-potties are the cleanest I have ever seen in 50+ YEARS. I don't mind the price, as it is well worth it for the fishing. With a little TLC, this place can be back to what it was years ago. Only suggestion I have is to try to keep people out who have not paid to stay; they are "stealing" the fish that others have paid for. Going back again this weekend.

We were trying to a find campsite from Lake Tahoe all the way to here but there were none because it was Saturday. We saw this campground and it was open so we went in and the people inside were super nice to us. We had a car with a tent and they only charge us $40. Later on we got some firewood and we tried to make fire but since we couldn’t light it we went to the check-in area and the guy was so nice and he gave us gasoline and a lighter. We had a great sleep here and a nice campground to stay in. The bathroom was also very clean and had some showers inside. I totally recommend staying here it’s really nice.

My college-age son and I wanted to fly fish the East Carson River (my wonderful wife came along too!) and we ended up, quite by accident, at the Carson River Resort. So glad we did! The cabin was rustic and comfortable. Loved that there was no key. "Just lock it from the inside if you want." What really set our experience apart was the genuine hospitality that was on display. We didn't have a lot of food - everything was closed by the time we got there - but the proprietor was making bbq'd ribs and brought us a plate along with potato salad. After enjoying the meal we went into their shop/office to share a little of our wine and ended up getting a mini-acoustical-guitar-concert and sing-along. Wonderful folks! If you want to get your rustic on along with some genuine hospitality, you should definitely check out this place.
