We had a decent stay here! It’s a typical budget hotel, no bells and whistles, just a place to lay one’s head whilst exploring elsewhere. Room seemed dated and old. Liked that it had a huge bed, microwave and huge fridge. Complimentary breakfast was provided for the 3 days we were there but was kind of disappointing cause it was waffles, muffins, bagels, yoghurt, but no fresh fruits, no proteins such as sausages, bacon, hash browns, eggs etc! Other hotels that offer complimentary breakfast do provide those basics! The staff was the best thing about this hotel! Very friendly, and helpful. The hotel also offered a shuttle to the State Fair at reasonable prices return trip for a couple, which was nice. We enjoyed our stay, only issue we had was the bathing soap, it was so tiny, barely enough to wash a full sized child let alone a fully grown adult! I’d recommend they change those bar soaps (see pic) to those large liquid shower gels most hotels have attached to the bathroom walls! All in all a decent stay if you not looking for major perks and luxury! You get what you pay for and we paid low cost so ya! Location was great we could get to most tourist sites by walking like the Lincoln museum, both old and new Capitol buildings, Lincoln’s home.
I am so glad to have found this hotel! I had to stay close to memorial hospital as my family member was critical. This hotel is just a few blocks away. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Nice reading lamps. Big TV. nice bathroom and shower and vanity. William at the front desk was so awesome. I got to know him because we had to keep extending our stay due to my family member in the hospital. He was so kind and friendly and would just re-reserve our same room for us. He treated us like family. I can’t see a big hotel chain doing that. And there’s a special lower rate for hospital visitors. AND breakfast is included too. Eggs sausage make your own waffles. Fruit yogurt coffee juice everything.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is great if you are sightseeing - very walk-able to several Lincoln sites. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We come to Springfield a few times a year to visit family, this was our second stay and we will be back. We decided it will be our first choice from now on when we come to Springfield.
Our family has stayed at this hotel numerous times due to family medical emergencies. They are always so accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and spacious. Provide a good hot breakfast in the morning. They also have a small laundry room for guests use. It is very useful for long stays. It is centrally located between the 2 nearby hospitals. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
An excellent place to stay on Route 66. Parking is free and the location is ideal for exploring Springfield on foot. The hotel is looking a bit tired and could do with a little upgrade but it still offered us a great sleep and a very nice breakfast. The only real downside was the use of single-use plastic for everything: plates, cups, cutlery, etc; and so a lot of unnecessary waste being produced at this day and age. But overall it's a very good hotel and not too expensive.
Hotel was not great nor terrible, just good. It had the look and feel of an older Quality Inn or Super 8 (so if you’re familiar with those, it’s essentially that). Had free parking and a standard free breakfast which was great! Hotel itself was safe, but the surrounding area not as safe since multiple groups of homeless people hang out around there. Easily within walking distance to all the downtown stuff which I appreciated. All in all, probably the best overall hotel in the downtown area from what I saw looking at other hotels.
A decent place to stay at a reasonable rate. The area is a bit sketchy so I'd be careful if traveling solo, but you shouldn't try to come off as a tourist anyways. Good thing is everything you're looking for is southward and most of it is within walking distance. Layout is odd and there's only one entrance, with vending machines on the south end's 2nd and 3rd floors. Breakfast during my stay was biscuits n gravy, with assorted breads, fruits, cereals, and juices (the waffle maker was always occupied). The bathroom would benefit from a deep-clean and a paint job. Still good overall, recommend to budget travelers.
Was looking for a hotel close to downtown for my trip to Springfield and came across a few big names but all of them didn't have great reviews and that prompted me to look outside the big chains. Carpneter Street Hotel had good reviews and location at a fair price. Looked through the pictures and promptly made the reservation. On arriving, the checkin experience was prompt and pleasant. The room was nice and spacious and the staff even helped with suggestions/ recommendations for food and sights to see, based on my preferences. Definitely enjoyed my stay.
The employees working when we arrived on 01/17, late afternoon, were absolutely amazing. There was an issue with the dates with our online reservation (my fault) and they were beyond patient and helpful to the best of their ability. I also witnesse
The room was big and spacious it was well as clean. The breakfast tasty but average. Less food than other Best Westerns. The assistant manager and owners did not know how to redeem the promotional gift card from the program that Best Western began a
I love this place ! Just have one minor complaint; they recently got rid of jalapeños and stopped cutting their veggies into smaller pieces - so the chunks are bigger. I usually add jalapeños when I get home and cut my veggies.
Nice people, great coffee (that they roast themselves) and a relaxing atmosphere! They have more than just vanilla for sugar free syrups too! The sugar free white chocolate was yummy. The cream cheese Danish was fresh, tasty and enough for 2 to share
This is an old city experience that reminded me of neighborhoods in old east coast cities like Boston or Philadelphia. It's a quiant neighborhood bar and restaurant with the atmosphere of a 90 year old place that hasn't changed very much. Loved it. T
Delicious ½Ponyshoe Hamburger. Then I couldn't resist the Turtle Cheesecake. Stuffed but happy. Waitress was an absolute delight. I took a picture outside before I went in. I didn't rush out of the truck and I took the next picture of the food sitti
I came here for the first time and it was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles. They were great. Our waitress also did a really good job, even with it being busy.
