Carnegie Guest House - Guest house in Davidson - 101 Dormitory Dr, USA

I can't say enough about this place and how fabulous it was. I loved how comfortable and cozy it was. I also loved how quiet it was, as well as clean. It felt like a home away from home.

Stayed at the Carnegie Guest house as part of a exchange program and took a visit to Davidson College as part of the trip. The group occupied six of the nine available rooms. Fantastic first impression of the building and the interior when we entered and found all room keys prepared in envelopes. Everything is wonderfully decorated and furnished. There are small meeting areas with comfy sofas on both lower and upper level. The rooms are nicely designed and spotlessly clean. The Guest House offers a nice breakfast of excellent quality. I liked the granola with fresh berries and greek yoghurt the most. It would be even better if one would become already some coffee in the early morning before the begin of the official breakfast time. The guest house and the surroundings were wonderfully quiet, one could hear nothing but crickets and tranquility. I would really love to return to this very beautiful and traditional guest house.

We spent a weekend recently at the Carnegie Guest House and it was wonderful. It is a wonderful old building and our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had everything we needed and a continental breakfast was served during our stay. There are plenty of areas to sit and visit or read, and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Davidson is a beautiful campus and there are lots of places to explore. If I had a child at Davidson, this would be my choice of where to stay.

My daughter and I were visiting Davidson for a college tour and couldn't have been happier with the accommodations and service at the Carnegie Guest House. We stayed in a spacious suite that was bright, clean and inviting. The breakfast was delicious: oatmeal, blueberry pound cake, and fresh orange juice were our choices. The house runs on an honor code where you can take a bottle of water or soda and leave 75 cents in a jar. Although we did not partake, it was nice to know we were trusted to walk in the kitchen and help ourselves. I would stay here again for sure!

Carnegie Guest House is a lovely B&B on the Davidson College campus in Davidson NC. The rooms are attractively and comfortably appointed. The large lounge is comfortable and bright and appropriately decorated. The building was built in 1910 as a Carnegie Library, and has the charm of that period. There is a very nice continental breakfast that included protein--- both boiled eggs and yogurt. There was a crock of hot oatmeal with a variety of "fixins" to add. There are a few cold cereals as well as English muffins and fancy breads. Pleanty of hot coffee, cocoa and a choice of teas. A nice way to start the day in the charming college town

The house was very beautiful and it is like you stepped back in time. The front desk stay were so friendly and kind, true hospitality. Very comfy beds and parlor. The grounds are so beautiful!

We had a wedding for a relative in our family and traveled to Davidson to attend it. There were many of us coming from miles away and we found out that the Carnegie Guest House would accommodate us all! They did just that and we had the whole place to ourselves with just our family. It was very comfortable for us and a beautiful historic building. They served a continental style breakfast every morning that we got to share together. It was very nice and was the best possible solution for what we needed at the time.

Beautiful, gracious atmosphere. We stayed in a room with two twin beds and gorgeous high ceilings. The staff is friendly and the after-hours checkin was smooth and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable and our room didn't have the layout troubles that the previous reviewer's room had. The shower faucets turn in the opposite direction from normal, but it didn't take long to figure it out, and the water pressure & temperature were much better than at normal bed & breakfasts. Also, there IS a (continental-plus) breakfast! Delicious granola, yogurt, toast, etc.
