Carmines at Candleworks - Italian restaurant in New Bedford - 72 N Water St, USA

Really good food, great and friendly staff. Stopped in for lunch, our first time here and everything was good from start to finish. I especially loved the fig flatbread. We will definitely be back!

Delicious food but very disappointing service. Our hostess was probably the most rude, disrespectful person I have ever met.

It is a mainstay of ours, but I just have to say I love Carmines so much!! The new menu is awesome, specifically, we are loving the farm pizza!! we are barflies and love seeing our friends there, I highly recommend this place to everyone we need and will continue to come back frequently :) Such a great atmosphere, consistently fantastic food, and awesome service 💕

Juliette was our server and she was amazing! We started off with a dynamite espresso martini ! My husband had the Buzzards Bay golden flounder. Came with some homemade bread with oil & fresh roasted garlic. Zuppa Toscana soup was delicious, arugula salad with cranberries, almonds & all sorts of delicious goodies with a light dressing and 10 grilled shrimp outstanding!! Hubby got the fig arugula flatbread. Everything was amazing! Looking forward to coming back for dinner. Rachel

It would have been my first time here but unfortunately the staff couldn't deliver due to a lack of communication. A reservation was made for nine and was told by the hostess that everything was all set. Confirmed our time and contact information. Fast forward to the time we were supposed to check in and no one knows anything and did not see a reservation. The manager said that we could not have made the reservation because the hostess must check with management prior to scheduling a reservation with this amount of people. She then realized and remembered that we did. I will say that she did make an effort to accommodate but the time was not acceptable for dinner. Communication needs to improve and maybe go the extra mile and contact people who make reservations the day of to confirm. I figured seeing this is a "high class" restaurant they would have their act together but I have to remember and I did forget this is New Bedford and shouldn't have gotten our hopes up. Captains Place ultimately accommodated us and the food was decent. Maybe in the future I'll make one more attempt to dine at Carmines we'll see I don't want to get my hopes up.

One of the best Italian food Restaurants . The Chicken Parm with meat sauce was perfect. The service was very professional in each encounter. Can't wait to go back.

Dined here last night with my friend, we had a late 9:00 reservation after what seemed like a busy night, the manager and our server (I don't know how to pronounce his name but I believe it started with an N) took great care of us and were very attentive. My bolognese was delicious! Our pistachio martinis were also amazing!

9/4/23 we frequent this establishment often & had a reservation for 730pm unfortunately it will be our last. The restaurant was far from busy. We ordered a flat bread for a app, all way well. We asked for water which took forever to get refills on(2nd visit in a row.) The server asked if we would like a pitcher and brought one 20 minutes later. Once the entrées finally arrived the exquisito veal was a snack at best but my wife's steak that she ordered medium well came out half medium half rare/raw she didn't notice until she got to the 2nd half. I brought it too the servers attention and he said he had let the kitchen know and they said "sorry" 32 dollars later... I originally only wanted to go for the affigato, I skipped desert and got out of there as fast as I could. The amount they charge and the service they've provided the last few times I will never return. Save your money and just goto providence or boston.
