We recently spent four nights at Carmel Valley Ranch and are already planning a return visit. We actually loved the spread out concept of the property and didn't mind driving to different areas. For mobility purposes, it was most convenient for us to have our car with us at all times. Parking close to all venues was a snap and made our trip much less stressful. Our room (329) was in the Bluff Suites and was quiet, well appointed, spacious, and comfortable with a spectacular view. The balcony was completely private. We swam in the Lodge pool most days and the kids' pool that was not crowded at all. We dined poolside for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal one night in the main dining room. We equated the trip to a resort getaway minus the airfare and airport hassle as we live within a couple of hours of the property. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant and ready to help.

We could tell from the moment we checked in at the Carmel Valley Ranch that it is a special property. The front desk was amazing to deal with. The grounds here are beautiful, and the ranch suite we were assigned to feels like our own little cottage. We also love the great views, daily activities, pet friendliness, and peacefulness of the surrounding area. The pools are beautiful and relaxing here as well. In any event, we would highly recommend the Carmel Valley Ranch. It is one of the nicest properties within the Hyatt portfolio. We will most certainly return!

We were excited to stay at CVR, as some of our friends have stayed and liked it. The staff is amazingly helpful, but at the end of the day, the experience wasn't all that nice. The website boasts four pools, but three of them don't allow young children. If you have kids, you have to drive, not so much because the pool is so far away (it was maybe 1/3 of a mile from our room?) but because there's no safe walking path. Breakfasts in the restaurant were good, but dinner not so much. I ordered the chicken piccata (or something similar) that was utterly flavorless. My wife's mushroom risotto was delicious for two or three bites, but after that, the salt was just too much. The kids activities were ridiculously overpriced. $100 for a one hour archery lesson? Crazy.

Pluses: Gorgeous area with a lovely pool, great outdoor seating areas, sumptuous lobby, fun garden, spacious rooms, most if not all with fireplaces and outdoor spaces.||Negatives: The rooms are very spread out on the property and almost all of them are a major hike from the main lobby/pool/restaurant/spa hub. Staff are overly casual for a resort with this price-tag. We had to find our way to the front desk upon arrival, had to change rooms as we were not initially given what we'd reserved, we had a massage therapist who showed up late and cut a massage short, and our bathroom faucets delivered brown water!

Loved this place. It’s a sunny hidden ranch with a lot of activities to do. The service was the best along with the food. The food has the best quality and the people that work there are very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Salvador from the corral. He made the experience magnificent and I doubt it would have been the same without him. He was very kind and knew all about the animals. Salvador made me feel welcomed and safe while being with the animals, always greeted me with a smile and eager to show me knew things with the animals.

The Carmel Valley Ranch is a stunningly beautiful location, in a hidden valley with vineyards, gardens, gold courses, and many activities from yoga to honeybee explorations to hiking. The resort was built in the 1980s. It is well maintained but is a bit outdated. The "tech" is about 10 years behind, and attempts to charge you for using the music feature. Regardless, we enjoyed our room very much. The service staff were excellent, they were very helpful and happy to engage. Unfortunately, the main office staff were disappointing. Some did well and we enjoyed engaging with them. Some others need more training in customer experience and in following up properly. Communication quality was very uneven, especially given the price point and aspiration. Positives: * Location and views * Ground staff, spa Less positive: * Main office * Price point, given the quality

This is NOT the place to stay if you’re looking for peace and quiet. Kids screaming, techno blaring across the property from common areas due to "events", loud noise from within adjacent units (including footsteps), techno blaring heavy bass across the whole property. Did I mention techno blaring throughout the property? We are mid way through a 5 night stay... and front desk offered a nonsensical $100 off when asked when the loud music would stop. Apparently there is another event tomorrow that will include more loud music at the expense of the majority of the guests not attending these events. I can’t fathom how a Hyatt property can allow this lack of hospitality. To reiterate: this is NOT a property for those looking for peace and quiet. I can not stress this enough. I'm ready to pack up and drive back to LA for tranquility. (Pic) The high density units with the lack of a view is just a side-note worth mention. Don’t let their site propaganda or planted reviews fool you as it did us…

Before my check in, I reached out via text to the phone number on the hyatt app. An agent from the hotel confirmed with me that I had 4 rooms and he added my two guests to two of the rooms. I also informed him that the two connecting rooms belong to my family and to add my two guests to the other two single rooms. He assured me that there would be no issues at check in. when check in came, they could not find my guests' names which caused delay in check in for one of my guest. Then they randomly gave my room away so I did not have connecting rooms when I checked in. I had to split up my family and then all they said was we can help you move the rooms if needed. No apology, nothing more was done really. ||||Didn't even offer my hyatt points for the mix up. I wasn't going to swap rooms after people have settled in, especially not with a family of three kids with a two year old that was already sleeping by the time I checked in. It was just a big mix up despite me trying to be proactive BEFORE my check in. I've been to this hotel many times, paid and on points and this was the worse experience at check in. Then at check out I asked them multiple times to remove the complimentary globalist breakfast and they kept saying it was done and then of course after I checked out, it wasn't done and then they had to initiate a refund. I emailed the assistant manager on site and he did nothing. Didn't even bother replying back to my email. I think they either changed management or staffing but it used to be so much better especially coming from a category 8 hotel. Disappointed stay!
