Was pleasantly surprised with this Best Western. Clean and nicely updated room. The bed was a bit firm for me personally but pretty standard for most hotels to have a firm bed.

We recently spent four nights here and had a great time. The location is perfect for walking to the restaurants and art galleries of Carmel. The rooms are basic but perfectly serviceable and the bed was very comfortable. Our room had a lovely balcony that served as a pleasant place to sit in the evenings. The check-in staff I interacted with were very friendly and courteous and we never had a problem with parking. It is costly for what it is compared with hotels you might find in cities, but I'd say pricing is in line with what you expect in Carmel. We'd definitely stay again on a future visit.

This hotel is in a great location. That’s why it’s worth the price, if you get a special deal. Full price, I don’t know. There are other places I like better. I’m a best western fan, but this one left things to be desired.

We booked a last minute trip to Carmel to celebrate my birthday. We requested an early check in and our room was not ready until 15 minutes after the check in time. The room was clean and spacious but in need of an update. The TV in the bedroom was slightly larger than my iPad and the main room TV was also small and likely one of the first "flat" screens made. The trend towards using refillable soap, shampoo and conditioner is acceptable but not my preference. However, the shower gel was empty and the voicemail I left to refill it while we were at dinner was ignored. The hotel is in a great location in the middle of Carmel and we enjoyed our morning stroll through town and along the beach. I will look for other options my next trip to Carmel.

We wanted to get out of the heat of the Sacramento Valley for a few days and take our dog to the coast. Carmel is known as one of the dog friendliest towns In California, so we started looking in that area. We settled on the Carmel Lodge for a few of reasons: they offer dog friendly rooms for an additional fee, proximity to all that is Carmel, and they offer a decent size room for the money. ||Staying in Carmel mid-summer is never inexpensive, but waiting to the last minute got us a pretty decent rate based upon midweek occupancy. The lodge is older and nothing fancy. The staff was all nice. There is ample parking and selection of rooms. We booked a Premium King and asked for an upstairs room. We stayed in Room 39, which is on the second floor. The rooms are kind of cool as they have split doors. You can close the bottom and open the top to cool the room. The windows are all original crank style. With the windows and half door open it cools off nicely. Pre-COVID they offered a lite breakfast, but now they have breakfast bars, a basket of fruit, and coffee available in the office. It certainly was all we needed. ||The lodge is approximately 10 blocks from Carmel Beach. We walked to the beach multiple times with our dog. It’s a nice walk down Ocean Street and past all of the cute shops. The beach is well worth it, especially if you take your pup. This is the only beach around that allows dogs off leash I am told. A majority of the local restaurants allow dogs for patio/outdoor dining. I recommend reservations at any of the restaurants nearby. ||This lodge is situated in a good location for Carmel activities, the lodge is older but clean and well kept. If you are looking to take a trip to the area and stay in Carmel, especially with a dog, consider the Carmel Lodge.

Great location and very comfortable beds with luxurious bed sheets. Parking is free for guests and walking distance to many the shops and restaurants. Only thing I would’ve liked is a little table next to the hand sink. There is no place to put your toiletries. We just grabbed a chair and used it. Otherwise, we had very comfortable nights. We stayed at the room 6. It could be noisy with cars driving around your room because it’s right by the parking and a driveway.

Dog friendly in the heart of Carmel a few yards from Hogs Breath, Giovannis, Casanova etc. Room 30 was actually better than 35 where we stayed twice before. Room was light and airy with a fireplace where we burnt 2 logs. TV could have been larger and the table looked a bit worn but the king bed was very comfortable and the bathroom great. Very spacious room. Recommend.

Cute and convenient but very dated rooms. Everything was clean, but could use a bit of updating. Only major issue was lack of outlets (only one in bedroom and one in bathroom which is used for coffee maker and microwave). Parking was also a challenge and we got lucky to have a spot in the lot when we arrived at night. The staff were friendly but would love to see a take-away breakfast or any option since most B&Bs have adjusted to COVID at this point.
