Incredibly clean for an older historic property. Bed linens and towels were spotless and comfy. Very friendly service at check in & check out and they even gave us a bottle of wine for our anniversary which was an unexpected and thoughtful gesture. You can’t beat the location. It’s within a residential neighborhood and only a short walk to both the beach and the shops. Very quiet and peaceful, would highly recommend.

This is an amazing place to stay for a peaceful vacation. The room was incredibly spacious and clean. Everyone who works here is helpful and kind. The water fountains and tables in the gardens were very picturesque. In the lobby there are fresh baked goods, coffee, and tea all day. It is also an easy walk to Ocean Ave.

We loved the Green Lantern Inn! Miss Jackie helped us at check in and even moved us to bigger family suite to accommodate our family of 4 so we stayed in Redwood suite. You feel the welcoming atmosphere immediately at check in where you are greeted with a coffee station/cookies and continues with your tour of the suite. The Inn is old but very well cared for and exudes a peaceful charm. The location is excellent as well - 2 blocks from Ocean Ave - where most of the shops and restaurants are located and the beach is only a 5min walk as well. Next time we are in Carmel we would stay here!

This place is adorable with an excellent location and a very friendly staff. They have little cottages to accommodate our family of five. Ours — the cypress — was sweet and cozy and comfortable. The only reason I give it a four is that it was built during a time when people on average were much shorter! We are tall people so had to duck a little at the entryway and heading to the loft. The coffee and croissants in the morning are great too. I chose it for location and price after researching places to stay and I am delighted to discover it. We will be back.

Pulling up to this charming spot was a joy. Reminds you of your grandmother's house. It is remodeled and we saw little to no flaws. Doors could be better insulated, we could hear the outside noise clearly. Rooms were adequate but would've liked more small touches like hand/body lotion for beach wind burn. They no longer offer pastries which was disappointing, as the breakfast restaurants all open after 7:30 and is inconvenient for early risers. With a few small touches to show that they care, this would be so much better.

The Green Lantern Inn is such a hidden gem in Carmel-By-The-Sea! It is only 3 blocks to walk to the beach or 2 blocks to walk to shops and restaurants in town. The facility was clean and well preserved (since it is a historic inn). Coffee and pastries were great in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions for wine tastings or other activities to do nearby. We would LOVE to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

A wonderful historic inn with lots of charm, great location, topped off by great staff! We enjoyed our wonderfully soft, large bed in the Walnut room, with a beautiful garden right outside our door where I sat reading and enjoying the wide variety of plants and flowers. The bright and inviting breakfast area welcomed us each morning with pastries, yogurt and fruit and homemade bread pudding to go with the great coffee. It's always nice to have local insight of what's best, Miguel was our go to, his love for the area was infectious. He provided a list of the top sights on the coast, along with tips of best places to park etc.

This is a cute little 100 year old Inn located just a block off the main road in Carmel, where everything is located in town. The rooms are very small, but they’re individual and unique. They offer coffee for breakfast and maybe a pastry or two. The staff at the desk were friendly. Lots of steps and narrow walkways to get to your little bungalow. The grounds are very well maintained with lots of flowers. $400/night is expensive, but it’s on par with the area.
