We stayed in the Moon Gate cottage which is set back from two other cottages. You get into your cottage rig a code provided by the innkeeper. The code only works at 4pm. Beautiful landscaping with so many colorful flowers and bushes. We saw several hummingbirds. The cottages are one street away from Scenic Road and Carmel Beach - fantastic location!||Loved our Dutch door at the entrance and in the kitchen. Comfortable living room area, cute kitchen and comfortable bed in the bedroom. We were concerned about the lack of screens in the windows when we arrived, but after calling the innkeeper we were assured there are almost no bugs in Carmel and it’s okay to open windows. We did have a couple bugs come in, but nothing like it would be back home where we are from. Only request would be to have extra bar soap to use. There was only one tiny bar of soap for the bathroom sink, but we used that in the shower as the little body wash bottles didn’t really cut it. We loved the cottage and would definitely be back. |Thank you also for the little gift bag on arrival! Nice touch! We’d definitely go back and recommend to our friends.

We stayed in their Tradewinds Cottage and we can't praise it enough. The cottage is beautifully appointed in a shaker style, very comfy large living room, fabulous master bedroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs that our teenage boys had. It was perfect for a family of 4 but would have slept 2 more easily. The location is perfect, 5 mins walk down to the beach, 10-15mins into Carmel. The cottage is very private and has really nice gardens with hummingbirds buzzing around and a nice outdoor seated area.||If we could have stayed longer we certainly would and have already discussed going back for longer next time, hopefully soon. Hosts were very responsive, seriously can't fault it.

Beautiful, historic, quaint, lovely. A perfect house for a getaway with two families. A block and a half walk to Carmel Beach was very convenient with young kids. If you enjoy history, clean and comfortable beds, and gardens then this place would be ideal for you.

My husband recently ran the Big Sur International Marathon and I'm so glad we had a nice quiet place where he could rest before and after the race. The cottages are in a residential area less than a block from the beach. You can also walk (uphill) to shops and restaurants. The small cottage buildings are stand-alone and there are no shared walls with other guests. The area is so quiet in the evening and if you have the windows open you can hear the surf from the beach below. We stayed in the Sky View cottage which was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed sitting on the raised deck in the evening with a glass of wine. You can see the ocean from up there and we enjoyed watching birds from this vantage point as well. Our cottage was nicely decorated and comfortable like a home away from home. The owners have thought of everything that we might need for comfort during our stay and provided it in the cottage. We spent a week in California and our weekend in the cottage was by far our most comfortable accommodations. I would definitely stay there again if we visit Carmel in the future.

May 2021-we stayed in the Sky View cottage. Absolutely the most perfect little place, beyond immaculate, and everything you need is right there. Especially loved the roof top deck. Very private. Just perfect! Within safe walking distance into town and one block from the beach. This place is a gem. Take a few minutes to check out the gardens and the moon gate at night. Definitely recommend, if you love a unique home away from home this is your place!

It has been rated 100% 5 star and yet it was even better than that. 6 star??? ||We were in Skyway which reviews have noted is ideal for 2. There is no fireplace and no full kitchen, but the refrigerator and microwave were more than adequate. ||The deck and living room both provided a slight view of the ocean, and the waves could be heard. Another reviewer commented that the pictures do not do justice....so true. Skyway was cheery, well decorated and appointed as well as immaculate. The gardens are lovely. The owner has obviously poured her love into the property.||The location is ideal....so close to walking the beach. We felt like residents!!!||The wifi and tv were excellent....a perfect dropout experience.

My husband and I stayed in Moon Gate, and call it The Enchanted Cottage. We can't say enough about our stay there! It was cozy and immaculate, charming and restfully decorated, had all necessities and a well-equipped kitchen - even an apron! The Dutch doors - entry and kitchen - were fun touches. The surrounding gardens are just as charming and unique as the interior! It's a block from the beach and enjoyed the sounds of the sea in our cottage. It's a short, easy, and beautiful walk to shops and restaurants as well. Service was exceptional. Our favorite accommodations anywhere - any of the cottages in fact - by far!

This is our last day at the Sky Way cottage. I enjoyed an early morning walk on the beach (about a block away) and then had a cup of coffee on our front porch deck. I can hear the ocean waves as I write this review. The cottage has a bedroom, bathroom and a living room. Like most hotels, there is a mini refrigerator, but there is also a sink, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and electric tea pot. I got some extra sleep on the comfortable queen sized bed. Over the last four days we were able to relax and recharge at this cottage. We hope to return soon.
