I own a house in Tucumcari, so I’ve seen quite a few small businesses come and go. Carlson Coffee Company is a business I truly hope to see stand the test of time. It is such a tried and true setting of any small town. The local coffee house. On my last trip home, I visited this cool, new spot and had such a good time! The pastries are on the sweeter side, but made with joy nonetheless. The record player radio adds great ambience. Complementary coffee if you dine-in. Friendly service who is very welcoming. The fresh baked loaves of bread are a treat. We brought one home and had slices with raspberry jam and strawberries. So fun! Definitely going back when I’m home next. Thanks so much!
Love this place we bumped into by accident trying to find food :). To my surprise Michael had beef, ham, turkey and more type warm croissants! The Azteca coffee super delicioso!!! We enjoyed our adventurous stop.
Awesome stop! We are traveling historic Rt 66 and it was time for a coffee stop and we passed Carlson’s turned around and came back. Glad we did, great coffee and tons of delicious calories to choose from. Have fun here.
Worth a short sidetrip off the highway if you are craving excellent coffee and baked goodies!! Awesome coffee made me think I'm back in the PNW (Pacific NW!) Give it a try!!
Our experience with Carlson Coffee has been wonderful every time we have frequented this establishment! We’ve called ahead to pick up when we are in a hurry or sat and enjoyed the ambiance. The staff is always friendly, coffee is hot and burritos spot on every time! Love the fresh tortillas they use!! Also have the most delicious treats like cookies and muffins available for a quick pickup and go. Clean restroom, lots of big windows with great lighting to sit and read a book in their comfortable sitting areas. Large area for parking if you are in a motor home or pulling a trailer. I highly recommend giving this spot a try if you haven’t yet!
They always have goodies on hand for any occasion. Love to drop in and pick up stuff for events, family gatherings or just cause I need a treat. They also have wonderful NM blend of coffee. They will also work with you on custom orders or for special occasions. And the owners are pretty awesome.
This would have been five stars, but the employees were more interested in chatting with each other than with the customers and the breakfast burrito was bland with no bacon and hard potatoes. It was still worth the detour because the coffee was excellent and my coffee cake was delicious!
Our company needed a place to visit with some clients, Carlson Coffee Company was so generous in allowing us to do so. They were fantastic host, delicious food and coffee! Highly recommend stopping by to hang out and grab a snack. The decor and atmosphere are so cozy and welcoming!

I've always liked coming to this park. It's big with enough space for mutiple activities. Lots of parking. Picnic area, playground, and dog friendly. Very clean. Nice area.
