Carlsbad Village Inn - Motel in Carlsbad - 1006 Carlsbad Village Dr, USA

Even for a budget motel, it didn't meet expectations. Room was ok and location fairly good but overall it doesn't even provide the bare minimum like a shower curtain that isn't torn and actually keeps the water in the shower.. or idk, more than 1 towel in a room. They actually expected us to use hand towels until housekeeping could come in at 9 am. Apparently no one else has access to the precious ratty towels.

The staff was great. There isn't much parking unfortunately but we got that worked out. Our biggest issue was the room itself. Although it was a non-smoking room it smelled like someone had smoked in the room and the smell was stuck on everything. We got home and our clothes smelled as well, even the clean ones in the bag.

Very basic room. Clean, but no fridge or microwave despite being listed as property amenities. Also...ANTS! In the bathroom and on the table. Completely ruined the take-out I tried to have after I sat it on the table for a bit. Staff was very polite and apologetic. But, even for the value, I wouldn't come here unless I had no other option.

Positive: The location. U can walk to over 100 places. Bars/restaurants/shops. Negative: Hotel room is dirty. I shower is gross. I made them switch my room cause first room was nasty and sheets had stains on them. There is crack heads staying at that place for sure. Hotel should of cost $20 a night. I will NEVER stay here again.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our stay. We booked a room for 4 days, not one time during our stay did they clean our room, we had a 1/4 roll of toilet paper when we arrived on Thursday, 1 towel, no soaps, shampoos, etc. The floors were filthy, the toilet was so low to the floor that we felt like we were using daycare toilets for children. Forget taking a shower, the water pressure was so awful we couldn't even wash our hair. Our bed was filled with sand, as we never got turn down service in a 4 day span we would have to shake the bedding off ourselves. We were thankful we brought our own towels (beach towels) as there was only 1 towel for 2 people. We asked for cleaning services twice and never got anything. We reserved the room over the phone and was supposed to be charged $79/night but were charged $544. And never got any deposits returned. This was the worst stay here in the past 30 years I've ever experienced. Sadly this being in my hometown I will NEVER stay again. Horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE business.

The room came with one towel and a half a roll of toilet paper. It was conveniently located, but on the website, there was mention of a pool on the ADA standards description for that property and no actual pool exists, so that should probably be updated so people do not come expecting a pool.

Positive: There was nothing lo line about this hotel. Negative: The room smelled and was water logged, moldy and we did not feel safe. The front desk does not answer the phone. There were no amenities just a bar of soap. They didn?t have enough for our group in the room or at the desk. Very disappointing.

Positive: The location is good Negative: There were spiders and ants in the room. It smelled like cigarettes and the paint was yellowed. I would not ever stay here again. Very run down and dirty.
