Beautiful lake! You can get a free shuttle to downtown from the cruise ship port, and then it’s a long and pretty steep incline walk through some neighbourhoods to the trail head. That’s the hardest part done! Only then a very short steep walk and you find this gorgeous lake. You can walk around it but it is not a loop. Very rainforest like in the trees. Would need about 3 hours including travel time from the cruise port. Well worth it!
Beautiful Hike! Went up during March month, still plenty of snow. Only incline is in the beginning, rest of hike is super easy.
Beautiful spot to hike and fish for Rainbow/Cutthroat trout. Weather is unpredictable and breathtaking at the same time. A lot of Incline for a great exercise. Good hiking shoes/boots and rain gear are highly recommended; Fish pictures soon to come!
Beautiful trail. Quick 10 minute walk to the dam to capture a nice photo of the lake in peace and quiet.
Easy access and stunning views. We caught the Green Loop bus outside our hotel and alighted a few blocks from Canyon Road leading to trailhead. Meeting an outing of 4-year-olds gave us confidence to head up a little farther toward the Minerva trail. Then, back down to the bus stop on Baranof.
The hiking time to get to the trail is pretty short, about 10 minutes. Beautiful in wintertime.
This hike is beautiful right from the start, and the first lake view is only a short walk for those whom are novice hikers. For those that are highly experienced hikers, there is a well marked trail and a traverse over to Perseverance Trail head by Ward Lake. Note: the traverse should only be hiked by highly experienced hikers. For those that are not you can hike this trail till you see a big waterfall on your left then you should turn around if it's winter time. I normally carry a safety beacon and hike with a partner in the winter on the traverse.
Gorgeous lake with mountain views, perfect for relaxing, do a picnic and take pictures.

Was tough, harder than I expected. Hiking from sea level up to 900+ m would be fine, but last 250 m of height was in snow (June 7).
Trail was 1 to 2 meters below the snow so it did not help too much :-). In some areas it was so steep that I grabbed t
Very beautiful hike that is not far from town. I took an uber to get to the far end of the trail by the college and then it's an easy walk back to town from the closer end of the trail.
A woman owned business with unique locally designed apparel, candles, incense, and other goods. This was such a breath of fresh air over the cookie cutter T-Shirt/hoodie designs in souvenir shops from our 3 previous port visits on our cruise.

This hole in the whole was a perfect spot to grab a few drinks and have a cigar right on the back patio overlooking the water. Friendly staff and a full bar. Leave a dollar!
We were in Ketchikan port for the day and rented a car. We lucked out with a beautiful day. Ketchikan is known to be one of the wettest areas in Alaska. We wanted to go as far away from the crowds and this was at the end of the main road. This is
So easy to be on and off the docks here. Port security uses facial recognition but ship is close and easily accessible to town. Most tourist things are right off the ship in easy walking distance. Hit Mount Roberts Tram early or the lines get long
Great find! We tried the oatmeal cream and gingersnap cookies, and the blueberry muffin. They were all delicious and the lattes were so good too! Would definitely come back if Iâm in the area again.
This is a wonderful place - one of best donuts Iâve ever had!
There is a whole board of flavours, some are standard but others are so unique.
I had the cinnamon crackers donut (like uk cinnamon grahams breakfast cereal) and it was amazing- still s

I've lived in Ketchikan all of my life, and my mom and dad have been here for a long time. Diaz Cafe has always been here, it was one of my first restaurants, and Rudy and Clara have treated me and mine as one of their family. I love these guys, and
