We loved the location, choice between 2 restaurants for breakfast. The bed and pillows were comfortable. What would have made our stay better, a working ice machine, a pull cord on the overhead fan as the room was rather stuffy as we used the floor fan in addition. The bathroom grout desperately needs to be redone, black looking mold was a turn off. You can't beat the location though.

My wife and I found the Lantana unit after our daughter and son in law stayed in the Love Shack last year. It has the perfect location overlooking Andy Rosse Lane and the wonderfully relaxed street scene that it offers. Everything in Lantana was clean and decorated with bright sunny colors. Sitting on the balcony in the evening enjoying the live music from the Key Lime bistro next door was one of the highlights of our evenings. With the central location, we never moved our rental car once during our stay. We walked to the beach, Mcarthy's Marina, the Island Store and 4 different restaurants..... and there were several others we just didn't get around to! Jayson in the office was very helpful in booking our longer stay for next February as well! |I will tell you to come stay at Lantana (or I'm sure their other units as well) with the expectation that this is a bit of old Florida. Beach cozy shabby chic my wife called it. It's a very affordable and relaxing place to stay on Captiva. If you're looking for a resort experience, those places abound, and you'll pay accordingly. What this place offers in abundance is relaxation and we can't wait to return!

Location and charm are the main points at this spot. It is “island” to the core, by which I mean: laid-back and unpretentiousness. Furnishings are old, eclectic and well-worn, and buildings could use a little cosmetic updating but were clean. After being terribly overcharged for two nights at an expensive but disappointing resort in Sanibel, this place felt homey and “beachy” and a good value for the money. ||We rented the Iris and found it comfortable and full of character. The easy walk to eating establishments, gift shop, and beach is a plus, but it also means this is smack in the middle of the main action in this little village. It is definitely not a private getaway but a place to go when you like to be in the center of beach life. ||Note that if you are planning to use a sofa bed you need to request the linens for it before the office closes. We had to make do with extra blankets. ||Pool was out of service and in fact the website doesn’t even mention a pool at all, so after reading reviews here about it being closed by the health dept. I suspect the owners have just given up on it. That’s disappointing and will probably keep us from returning with kids unless it’s remedied in the future. Would definitely use again as a couple just for the charm and ability to stroll over and grab a drink and enjoy it on our own tiny porch.

We will never stay there again. We stayed in the lantana. Very dirty! Mold in the fridge. Very rusty fridge door. Mold on the ceiling by all the vents. Every time we would leave there would be staff from the lime bistro sitting on our steps taking a break. Don’t bring your small kidos the spindles on the porch are broken. It’s a second floor unit. A child or a pet can easily fall through. The owner pretty much owns all the restaurants next to us. She decided to show up and rock the enter neighborhood past restaurant closing hours 10pm. She party till after midnight. There is a noise ordinance at 10pm. We had plans very early the next day.The people that stayed down stairs said there baby’s were kept waking up I did not actually fall asleep till after midnight. I felt very bad for them. They had problems with the septic tank while we were there and were told they would leave the office door across the street open if we needed to use the bathroom. The drain in our bathroom is clogged I had to brush my teeth in the kitchen sink. The place very much needs updated. I’m sorry but we did have a horrible experience. The paint is great and cute. The lantana room is a fabulous location. They really do need to make the place more accommodating for guests though. It’s a great concept but needs lots more love!!

We stayed in the Iris Villa at the Captiva Inn and Suites. We were very disappointed in the condition of the room. They definitely need a complete overhaul. The floors were not level and fixed with different tiles. The molding was broken by the door. The pool was still closed by the board of health. However, on the plus side it is in the center of activity near restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Free breakfast and parking was provided. Jason was great to work with and available to answer our questions.

The best thing about our stay was the location of this property. Close to the beach, restaurants and shops, it offers great convenience without having to use a car. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Jasmine Cottage. It is a one bedroom unit in the rear of the property which is quiet but unkept. The cottage didn't look anything like it was depicted on the website and was in need of repairs both inside and out. There was a coffee pot in the room but no coffee cups or utensils. The TV got only 1 station. The bed is tightly squeezed in and was difficult to get out of one side without banging into the lampshade. The outside area with a table and 2 chairs was cute but the front porch fencing was broken and the area not clean. The pool area was under construction which we knew about prior to arrival and did not impact our stay.

Great place for a beach getaway. We stayed at #12 (Loveshack). It is small but was perfect for us. It has a good size refrigerator inside and a nice patio-next time we'll bring our portable grill! It is also situated at the very back of the drive so we didn't smell the restaurants and barely heard the music. The bed was comfy, the AC great. The Inn provides umbrellas and beach chairs free! And the included breakfasts were fantastic! Truly a full breakfast. Don't bother going to Starbucks up the road as the coffee at R.C. Otter's was actually better to my surprise. Staff was very nice as well at the Inn and at the restaurants. Will definitely go again. The beach is so nice and very close.

Captiva Island Inn is a cute little place to stay when in the Sanibel Island and Captiva area. Love the location! We stayed in the Orchid Cottage for a week. It was comfortable and we had everything we needed...well if you don't count good Wi-Fi! That was a bit frustrating and why I didn't rate our stay 5 stars. (That and the water pressure in the bathroom could have been better.) It was two of us and I think that's probably all I'd put in the cottage although there was an extra bed. Breakfast each day is included in one of the two restaurants adjacent and across the street from where we stayed. Captiva Island Inn is right down the street from The Mucky Duck and a fabulous beach to watch sunsets. You can walk to a lot of restaurants. Just a nice little place to stay for some R & R. Would definitely come back again!

I am giving 5 stars due to the marina staff as well as check in manager, bellman, shuttle driver and gate check dude. This resort is currently a diamond in the rough from the storm damage and the south seas team is in full swing to get more units up
