Incredible atmosphere. Everyone was extremely nice and you can really enjoy the hotel and the property down to the little details. S’mores at the fire for free, the staff can light up a fire outside on request, etc. The views are magnificent, specially if you catch a foggy morning, and the ambiance at night is magical. The restaurant is fantastic as well with one of the best cocktails I’ve seen in a long time. I’m planning to come back here in 3 weeks again just because I was so amazed

We did not stay at the hotel, however our date night here was absolutely amazing. The staff is very calming and nice which goes hand and hand with how cozy the environment is inside. To top it off the food and drinks were delicious. Will definitely return.

We stayed here for a wedding and it was absolutely amazing at every turn. The staff was so incredibly accommodating. Special shout out to the girls behind the bar. They were not only great bartenders, but brought great energy and service. There is a little coffee shop that made a delicious latte and great little burritos. We stayed in the Lagoon rooms, which were lovely. You can definitely here when people are walking on the porches above you, but the inn provides a great white noise machine. The views were incredible and there were so many different picturesque spots around the inn's grounds. Cannot recommend this place enough. Incredibly tranquil and serene.

Charming escape on Whidbey island. Rooms in the lodge are simple and adequate. Thin walls are conquered with in-room white noise machines and an early to bed crowd. Shared bathrooms are lovely and not awkward at all. Restaurant ramps up at 4pm with the last seating is at 8:30pm. Friendly staff and a wonderful setting make up for average food and cocktails. Champagne in the lobby from 4-5, and a cozy place to reconnect and unwind makes this a wonderful destination.

I booked Captain Whidbey as we were staying one night on the island and wanted a lodge style accommodation. It didn’t disappoint. As soon as you stepped into the main house, you were relaxed - a crackling fire on, soft seating and a brilliant atmosphere. The staff at the front desk were lovely and had lots of recommendations.||||Our room overlooked the view at the back of the hotel, a short 2 minute stroll from the main house and was very in keeping decor wise with the outdoor, lodge theme. It was spacious, well heated and the bed was very comfy. ||||Standout for us was the restaurant and bar, with some delicious food and the views out the back of the house whilst eating are spectacular. Try the mussels which have been sourced on the island!||||To top it off, we sat at the fire pit after dinner with marshmallows and enjoyed the peace and relaxation. ||||We only wished we had a second night there! Thanks Captain Whidbey, we’ll definitely try to get back over from the UK again. ||

Ok I’m going to chime in on the Captain Whidbey as there has been mixed reviews of the place. If you love historic buildings this is a beautiful place. The main lodge has rooms upstairs with the shared bathrooms (which are less expensive). We stayed in the newer addition, the Lagoon rooms as pets are allowed and we travel with our dog. Those rooms are modern in furnishings and as related by another reviewer don’t have a frig. But people, it’s good to be clear what amenities are offered before you go—this is not a motel. We always travel with a cooler and coffee maker so it wasn’t a problem! We didn’t experience a lot of noise and after 8 it was super quiet.||The food at the restaurant is very good! We ate there 2 nights and were impressed by the high level of the food. The third night we ate at Molke Xeta an excellent Mexican restaurant in Coupeville.||I found the staff, including the wait staff, managers and reservations staff friendly and helpful.||The hotel beach is small and rocky but who cares? We managed to hit 3 superb beaches as we explored island including Double Bluff which is designated off leash for dogs.||This may be the perfect place for you depending on you taste and expectations!

We didn’t stay at the hotel so this is just for the restaurant. Our meal was way overpriced for what we had. Lentils and bbq chicken which was way too sweet and I didn’t even eat the leftovers because it wasn’t that good cost so much! My husband loved the burger though so next time if we ever go back in sticking with that because honestly nothing on the menu was recognizable and the variety was lacking for someone who is a picky eater or isn’t accustomed to eating fancy dining. There was amazing service and of course they tried to pitch an overpriced drink when we first got there but the beer selection wasn’t bad. It was nice to have local options and their herb garden was impressive to walk through. There was too many wasps left unchecked because we tried to go look at the lake but my son immediately got stunk by a wasp. We even had to kill a wasp while sitting at the dining table in the restaurant which is ridiculous frankly. The atmosphere was beautiful but I wouldn’t say it was worth the price for the food at all. Stay there but don’t eat there honestly unless you have the money to waste and stick with the burger.

Hi, sharing that there are three types of room that make up the complex, cabins, apartments near a lagoon, and teeny rooms in the actual hotel. Noting that I would come here again because the location and experience of the land and waters nearby are amazing (Edbey landing and the beach trail that is on an amazing bluff). What I’m sharing might not matter to others, but sharing nonetheless in the spirit of good information to have as a traveler. The room I booked was in the hotel. I didn’t read the details, and I soon realized it’s a communal bathroom (3) and one shower for us women. I was a bit shocked, but my bad for not reading. The front desk is either friendly or laconic. Someone looked me straight in eye almost as a dare to check out. Perhaps they are not aware that a warm smile are acts of generosity and welcome conversation for weary travelers. Something to improve upon, but not a reflection of the attitude of others, for sure. On the other hand someone amazing printed out a map for me and was sincerely engaged in giving me direction on where to walk nearby. Place was bustling on Saturday night, but I was lucky to nab a seat for dinner. The chicken had barbecue sauce on it and I was just not a fan, overly sweet. I think the menu could used some work. It’s hard to choose, there are too many imaginative and eclectic options. Simple is better, considering the quality of the ingredients. Looking back I should of ordered the clam chowder. The bread was phenomenal, but that doesn’t come with your food, you have to order a side of it. They have their branding down, which is amazing and you want all the things in their gift shop. More thought should go into the hot food they sell. It’s affordable and nearby but dampens the spirit of the experience of eating something yummy first thing. Food gives travelers something to remember. I think they could do better and would make the experience easier on guests who do need to eat in the morning but can’t travel. Never feels good to be forced to eat something that you don’t truly want.
