Amazing vibe and even better lattes. Thoroughly enjoyed the morning air flowing through, surf comp playing on the projector, and great music selection playing. Staff was super friendly as well.
Wow - delicious espresso & coffee, amazing service, great atmosphere, food was super yummy…can’t say enough good things about Captain + Stoker! Our lattes were not only delicious but they were works of art! The barista perfectly steamed both dairy and nondairy milk, the espresso of course was fabulous. The team working behind the counter was knowledgeable and very kind. Bonus points for the cool bikes and ambiance. Highly recommend!
Love this place! I reached out to my Facebook community for recommendations for coffee in Monterey and heard this is the best place on the peninsula. Breezy, with ocean air, lots of plants and surfer decor, and really incredible coffee, pastry, and service. There is lots of free parking right outside the shop, and lots of space inside to sit and drink from a real mug. There is a bike pump in the corner and a tin of dog treats on the counter - thoughtful touches that won me over.
What a coffee shop! We smiled as soon as we entered this breezy and airy space: suspended bicycles, huge garage door, reclaimed wood table and plenty of seating. Such a California vibe all over. Pour over was delicious as was the iced tea (bonus points for large ice cubes and elevated glasses). We joked that if we ever opened a coffee shop, this would be the feeling we’d like to recreate. Props!
Just delicious! The almond croissant I ordered was enormous, perfectly pillowy on the inside, yet still flaky and crisp on the outside. Cortado perfect as well. Good place for a quick grab and go breakfast, or to sit and work awhile. Well behaved dogs hanging out inside too ♥️
On a day trip through Monterey and Carmel, I was in search of a quality 3rd Wave coffee roaster’s cafe. Lately it seems like the mark of a legitimate coffee-first cafe is an automated Poursteady machine. There was a line leading out of a space with a triple garage door. They had an African blend but I opted for a Guatemalan pour over that was solid, and more than adequate for my morning coffee. If you passed Verve on the way to Monterey and beyond, Captain + Stoker is a great option.
It’s a wonderful mini of the Captain and Stoker in Monterey. They have Sam and other great people working and even though I spent less than 10 minutes there, I can’t wait to visit again. It would only be better if there was room for seating but maybe they will expand!
Great little cafe to visit, it’s a little bit off the beaten track but well worth it when you get there with its big open shutter doors and high ceilings it has a lovely airy relaxed feeling about it. The food is not the norm, but in a good way, making it unique and delicious. Got to be a must if your in Monterey.

I joined First City Crossfit in September 2023 and could not be happier with the overall experience. I've been to many crossfit gyms around the country and this has been, by far, the best. Frank and the coaches are outstanding! They have such a desir
First time going wine tasting here, and I loved it! They have many options, from doing a 4 flight up to doing an 8 for tasting. What caught my attention was the tubes they brought the wine in! A unique way of serving wine. The spot is very relaxing t

Cute and quaint farmers market in the middle of downtown Monterey. There are so many different vendors with fresh produce, ready to eat food, and so much more. You canât come here without getting an elote in cup and baked potato, two essentials. Th
DIVINE. Croissant was as tasty as though we were in Paris ! Light and fluffy, so buttery! Double latte was perfect, as well as the selection of pastries, quiche and other delicacies.
I took my 9 month old on her first Monterey Bay Aquarium visit, and it was such a success! I walked in with her in the stroller but became quickly grateful that I had also brought the carrier, which we used the rest of the visit. Bringing the strolle
Hands down the greatest sushi in the area. Even after living in Japan for 3 years I have to say I've never had better sushi than Kuma. Although there is a place in Washington D.C. that could give them a run for their money. But everything at Kuma wa
