All in all this place was good. The staff were great but the fried food had little flavor. The grilled seafood was much better.
Hugely disappointing experience. We love the seafood store and had huge expectations that this would be awesome but it wasn’t, in fact it really wasn’t even good. The grilled shrimp had some sesame sauce on them that was horrible. The fried shrimp were not peeled far enough to the tail so when you went to pop the tail off there was still shell on the shrimp. The breading on the fried shrimp was very light and without flavor. The baked beans were not good and the fries were very bland it seems like they could season them some. Also leaving the parking lot there is a big drop off which you’ll bottom out most sedans.
Tasty but the platters don’t necessarily stand out, other than the scallops. They are perfectly cooked and delicious. Good price for the quantity and quality. Always good to support locally!
Great Seafood. Grouper Bites Appetizer Were Great. I Got The Big Seafood Platter With Flounder. Holy Cow It Was Huge! All Tasted Good. Wife Got Mahi Fish Tacos. She Liked. Salsa Was Delicious. Kiddo Got Chicken Fingers. I Tried Them And They Were Awesome Too. Cool Atmosphere With Live Music. Server Johnathan Was Very Nice And Answered All Of Our Questions. Floor Manager Was Very Nice Too. All In All Great Experience. I'd Recommend This Place If You're In Pensacola.
I ordered grouper, and it was terrible, old, like it had been under a light since the night before. The waitress was loud and impatient. Another patron was paying with multiple cards, and the waitress made an announcement at the top of her lungs about it. I shouldn't know that the next person was putting $3 on one card and $27 on the other, but I do. The same waitress was unsuccessful at taking my card payment, and someone else had to help. The only things that were good were the buttery rice, baked beans, and the music.
Used to love this place. But it seems since the original owner died it has just gone further and further down the drain. They keep making changes and it is getting worse with every change. It was a great restaurant. Why you trying to fix what ain't broke? For example, they used to butterfly the fried shrimp with a perfect batter. Now they just slap that batter on and try to fry them without butterflying them. The batter just falls right off with all the grease. Wrong batter for this type of shrimp. They've also changed a lot of other recipes. And the prices have gone outrageous. I no longer have a good reason to come back so I probably won't ever return.
In response to the restaurants response: I know you are struggling with bad reviews and people saying they'll never come back but that's no reason to lie. I know for a fact that everything I stated in my review is correct. I had confirmation from people in the know. Instead of trying to make your customers look bad, how about you just apologize and use the constructive criticism to bring the restaurant back to the wonderful food you had in your glory days. The clam chowder recipe has also changed and that's an absolute fact. We have stopped by the fish market and bought some and then came to the restaurant and bought some and compared them side by side. My wife says she doesn't want your clam chowder anymore. They used to be identical. No more. It's sad to watch a wonderful restaurant slowly slide into oblivion just because the dummies now running it are too narcissistic to admit their mistakes.
A must try if you are in the area. We really enjoyed the shrimp appetizer and the fried shrimp. Busy during the day, must check their hours of operation. We by a couple of times and they were not open. Food was good.
Shrimp creole was superb! The seafood platter was enough for 2 people. It was deep friend but not greasy!
I normally don't like hush puppies but these were amazing... so flavorful

This is a great place for seafood. The service was wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. I ordered the Fried Gumbo Salad and it was LOADED with seafood â essentially a fried seafood platter over a salad (fried oysters, shrimp, crawfish, and okra)
