I haven't managed to make it to Riverside Iowa for Captain Kirk's birthplace but I'm here in Bloomington and I got to visit this memorial to Captain Janeway's birthplace. Yes, the Star Trek: Voyager star was born (will be born?) on May 20, 2336. The monument is located not far from the courthouse square along a rail trail. It's not hard to find and if you're at all a Star Trek fan, make the effort.
The statue is located in a nice area, with plenty of other things to see and do.
A very fun commemorative nod to the Star Trek community and one of its most enduring icons. Worth a visit, especially with so much else to see and do in the immediate vicinity. Also there was someone in a full plague doctor outfit there, walking the trail with an umbrella, and if anyone knows who that is I hope you'll let them know I respect the drip.
Pretty much the greatest thing in Indiana! It’s Janeway! Enough said!
Interesting statue downtown Bloomington located behind the Hyatt Hotel on the B-line trail. Not a paid attraction just a state referencing bloomington's relationship with the star trek series.
The attention to detail on this statue is amazing. From the glint of her eyes, nails, and pips, to the sparkling Black plaque below her. The commbadge she rests on points true north while the bust faces towards the Wonderlab Museum. Such a wonderful and touching monument for an amazing Captain of Coffee
Wonderful spot for any Trek fan to visit. We drove 3 hours to come visit and loved it. It was quite the experience. Add this to your Trek road-trip bucket list!
Was very good getting to see the statue, I’m originally from Florida and was up in the area doing work so stopped in to see it. I was lucky enough to run into Josh Dinner, Who is one of the designers of this monument. It was a pleasure meeting him and learning some of how the monument came to be.

Train Fitness is a unique experience here in Bloomington. I love how I felt instantly comfortable when I started working out there. Part of this is due to the fact that the center is open 24 hours to accommodate a multitude of schedules and the other

First time to watch IU volleyball at this venue. Very spartan but built so that no matter where you sit, you will have a great view of the court. You will live watching volleyball in this new facility if theirs.
Canât believe I went this long without a cinnamon roll from here.. No regrets.. In love.. Get there early if you want options, coffee was good as well!
While it's part of the university campus, this lovely green space is open to everyone, and I see people here with their dogs or their kids all the time. The creek is good for a little birdwatching.
What a special place! There is so much to do and learn. The children can and are supposed to touch EVERYTHING. Readers and non readers alike will get a lot out of the exhibits. They manage to fit wonderfully diverse content into a manageably sized f
