Caprice Motel - Motel in Wildwood - 4200 Ocean Ave, USA

This place is fairly clean but desperately needs updated. We got 2 towels and 2 washcloths. The toilet paper is so thin you can literally see through it. There's a small refrigerator and freezer combo but it's got rust around the doors and the inside rack for sodas broke when I put 3 soda cans in it,, the cans fell out onto the floor. The beds are fairly comfortable but we brought our own pillows anyway. The rating on this motel is "Pleasant ",,, I guess you could say that because it's definitely not a "Good" rating. If you're looking for a motel that is close to the boardwalk area and the rides, and your not looking for a nice Hotel setting or the amenities of a nice Hotel then this is an okay place for the beach. But I will say, it does have a pool, and small hot tub and it is pretty close to the boardwalk and rides. My recommendation is bring some Bathtub cleaner and paper towels because there was hair in the tub and you'll need paper towels,and I would bring my own toilet paper!! The air-conditioning is 👍 great. Oh,,, one more thing,, we are a couple in our late 60s, and still mobile (SLOWER)and our room is on the 3rd floor and THERE'S NO ELEVATOR!! Carrying bags and luggage up 3 floors was a feat in itself!! even if you're on the younger side. I hope this helps you in your quest for a place to stay in Wildwood NJ.

The positives are that the hotel is very close to the boardwalk and Family Dollar. The staff was mostly responsive to problems. ROOMS ARE NOT CLEAN: There was rust on the sinks, mildew on all kitchen faucets, the shower curtain had mildew, mold on the ceiling, and the floors were constantly wet from the moisture in the air. My family members said that they woke up with wet skin from the moisture in the air. I randomly decided to touch the wall in the bedroom and it was wet. We threw things away because they got wet from just being on the floor. The bathroom sink was squirting water onto the floor and the toilet. We were very grossed out upon entering this room so we bought our own towels, sheet sets, and pillows. The towels provided were too short and we only used them to spread on the wet dirty floors in the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen area. Someone came to fix our sputtering bathroom sink on the first night and never returned to actually fix it properly. He said that no one ever told them about any of these problems but I doubt it. The only way they wouldn’t know was if housekeeping was totally blind or never did anything but maybe change the sheets. How can you have dirty shower curtains and expect people to shower with that?? Do better and upgrade the place. The TVs are obviously new, now clean all of the mold and get new sinks and faucets.

Not a very clean place at all! Pool and jacuzzi was filthy. Jacuzzi was broken. No hot water for shower on our second day. No refills on shampoo. I rarely leave bad reviews..but stay away from this place!

Rooms are not clean. Old rusty fridge, stove, and the microwave wasn't cleaned since it was new. Found a sock behind the dresser while looking for an outlet. Dirty towel behind back room door. Bathroom garbage overflowing. 2 (clean) towels in a room booked for 4. Wifi wasn't working. Cigarette burn on mattress sheet. The only thing that might justify the room prices. The boardwalk is 1 block away.

I have stayed in worse before but for the price I paid for just 3 nights was outrageous for what I got. Only good thing about this motel was that it's literally a 2 minute walk to the boardwalk. There is black mold in the shower. Mold on the furniture. Anything that had metal was rusted and painted over but the paint was cracking off. The AC's smelled like mildew when you put them on and the one in our room didn't work properly. We barely had hot water. Had to wait 20 mins for luke warm water to shower. Every towel I had that they provided had black hair on it. I'm glad I brought my own. The shower walls were so slimy and had hair all over the wall. The maid that cleaned our room before we got in did not even sweep our room fully because there was trash on the floor from the previous person who stayed. The blanket was ripped and the stuffing was coming out. Drawers to the dressers looked like they haven't been cleaned out in a while. Fridge was cleaned but the microwave and coffee pot were filthy. Pool was nice for kids but I've noticed alot of hair and bugs in it like no one skimmed it. The hot tub was closed the whole time we were there. Trash everywhere on the ground around the motel. The only maid that we appreciated and was so nice was I believe Mexican women with braids and wearing scrubs. Didn't get her name. She was so nice to us asked if we needed anything. Didn't see or hear from any other maids. I think it was a maintenance man that was there too. He was very nice and helpful. He was wearing a hat and slide and I believe was Mexican. I didn't get anyone's name. Oh and the ice machine doesn't dispense ice. You got use a small cooking pot that they provide and scoop it out the top of the machine. No thank you. Went to family dollar behind the motel and bought ice. They also have a guest laundry room which is convenient but it was gross in there. Dried up paint in a pan on the floor. Smelled like mildew in there. They have one of those dispense machines for laundry soap that you pay for but it didn't look like it works. I would definitely stay somewhere else if you like hot water and a clean motel. I have pictures of the room as well.

Couldn’t check in until person who made the reservation was physically there even though I was going to pay with different card. The person who made the reservation for our family was at another hotel checking in. with her disabled husband. I explained this the person at the desk to no avail. The only reason I didn’t move to a different hotel then and there was because my grandson wanted to stay where some of his teammates were staying. Half the outlets in the room did not work. Went to office to report this. Manager did send maintenance men who checked outlets but could not fix— said that would be back in the morning to fix. Brought us an extension cord for the night. They returned the next day when we werent there but the result was the outlets flickered instead of not working at all. Floor was sandy and dirty-know it’s the beach but really. Ice machine dispenser was not working-had to use a scoop and reach the ice from the top of the machine. The ice was not covered but open to elements. Bathtub was stained and shower was weak. Wi-Fi was sketchy. Don’t go here!

Management is very helpful. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Noise at nite from guests during the holidays is unbearable.

This place is a joke. We stayed here three weeks ago and it’s absolutely disgusting. When we got here, I went to the office to inform them that all the rooms and bathroom ceiling was all covered in black mold and the fan blades were covered in dust. The floor was definitely not cleaned as there was dirt all over. Got out of the shower and our feet were black on the bottom before we could get to the bedroom. The air conditioner was hanging off the wall leaving a large gap between, letting in bugs and humidity. The sheets and towels were dirty. The sheets had makeup marks on it and the towels were just dirty, grungy, and smelled as if they were just rinsed in water and not actually cleaned with detergent. While we were packing up the last day we spoke with one of the cleaning staff members and showed them everything, we then found out that the motels washing machines don’t properly work because the soap hose wasn’t even hooked up, so they are “washing” all the linens and towels with just water and wringing out the excess water by hand because that’s what the owners of the property told them to do after the cleaning staff informed them that the machines weren’t working properly. The pool, which we were informed, had failed health inspection numerous times, was so gross, when someone would jump in the pool while we were standing on the side, you couldn’t see them reach the bottom after they were submerged and it was only 8 ft deep. When they popped up numerous clumps of hair and dirt came to the surface. When I tried to call an ask for a refund for just a day or two the person that answered the phone was very rude and told me they don’t do refunds. He said they checked the room after we left and everything was fine with no issues. I told him I’d go to the health department and he hung up on me. This place is a hard pass for the price. There are much better places for the same price if not better that I would highly recommend staying at first. This is a place you go to and get sick because they don’t care about the patrons just the money they steal from you.
