HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. |lovely view of the ocean. Close to plenty of cool things to do. Location is great. |BUT |Pretty much a run down hotel. You are paying for the location. |WHICH would have been fine if the check in process wasnt absolutely painfully HORRIFIC.
Capitola is a small beach town about two hours away from me. This would be a mighty expensive establishment for my budget during the summer. But I've learned to schedule my trips in the off season. I went with family for one night in April 2023. These are small housing units complete with kitchens, bathrooms, living area and bedrooms. Bring your own food and have a good time laying on the sand a few steps from your lodging. The unit we rented was a two-bedroom. The check-in was smooth and the front desk staff was friendly. I wanted to support this town, which was heavily affected by the 2022 winter storms. Inside parking, proximity to the beach, location, amenities were all positives. Some units were dated while some looked newly renovated. I wish some units were pet friendly so I can take my dog for my solo trips. I recommend this establishment if your budget allows, and if you prefer housing unit amenities.
The hotel room with ocean view and a balcony is totally disappointing. All you can see is the back/top of the colorful houses and barely any beach/ocean view. Balcony screen aren’t really sealed, so you have the options to have flies invading the room if you have balcony door cracked open, or you will be toasted when it’s warm. The room feels old and dirty. Bed sheets and pillowcases can need a replacement as they have stains or yellowed. Walls are thin that you can hear couples having fun from two rooms away. Sink and faucet in bathroom show their aged and are filthy. Breaker trips while I had both microwave and coffee maker running at the same time, luckily the breakers are just located next to the refrigerator which is a full size one surprisingly. On the other hand, it is a very convenient location for couples to have a one or two nights getaway. Parking lot is small and tight, but it feels safe with the gate. Only recommend it if you are going for the experience, if not just find somewhere newer cleaner on the other side of the street.
This is a quaint little place. It is strategically located in Capitola Village with the beach steps away. It is an older building- where the inside is dated. However, the bed was very comfortable. There are kitchenettes. But NO plates or silverware. They will provide this as an extra charge. We did not stay right close to the beach as that location you won’t have privacy and it’s noisy. The parking is convenient and Free!
Hotle rome look like 1920 Grimmaw house. Reminds me of 2006 when I went to my grandmother's house before the war
I needed a getaway, and this was just what I needed. From checking in, the front desk girl was so damn awesome. She was friendly and so nice. I loved my room. I had room. 136. I can't wait to go back.
You could not ask for a better location. Staff was very nice and helpful. ||It is not a luxury hotel. But, Capitola is not a luxury kind of place. It is a delightful beach town. ||My room was vey comfortable, had a balcony with a great view of the beach. The bed was comfortable. Room was spacious. Kitchen was handy. All in all an excellent place to stay.
Stayed here many times in past, loved it!!! This review is more for the service and reservation system. I recently made a reservation here. I had to cancel. I called left messages, emails. No one got back to me after a few days, I called again, lady was busy. I sat on hold for 15 minutes finally hung and called again. She apologized. I asked her to cancel my reservation, she said it had already been canceled with a note that I have called and messaged many times, but no one had the decency to call back or email me and let me know they cancelled it. So I have no confirmation email that it is canceled. I get this is a small hotel, but if you don't have a way for people to cancel/modify online and ask them to call to make cancellations or modifications, then don't answer or even call back on messages left, I except not to get charged when reservations aren't properly canceled on their side or because I couldn't get a hold of them and did my due diligence.
Very good beer, nice staff, nice patio Despite being close to the highway, itâs very quiet on the patio (which has maybe ten tables). A choice of about ten beers on tap. We tried Pilsner, IPA and Porter. All good. Dogs welcome.
Beautiful stay. Just steps from downtown, yet private and romantic. Our room was spacious, clean and cozy; if thereâs something you need, just ask! Wonderful welcome from the owner & very accommodating staff. Breakfast was delicious. We will be ba
Vibrant coffee shop with tons of wonderful drinks. You're sure to find a flavor combo you like with so many delicious options. I got the Sicilian latte, many delicious flavors to get and combine with food and a colorful atmosphere. Definitely will be
Super fun place to eat because there are so many options to try. The Marionberry pie was just sweet enough. Roasted tomato ficelle (clothespin thin, foot-long sandwich) was addicting to eat and gone in a flash. Line is long but well-managed by frien
Beautiful day at the beach!!! Very few people mostly walking dogs. Little breezy and sunny. Calm ocean. Few birds. Clean open restrooms. Beach itself is a bit different from last year. Winter storms took a third of the beach out and pushed the rest c
This eatery feels open with bright pops of color defining its interior. The food came quickly. The tinga tacos were scrumptious! The combination of meat and sauces worked beautifully! The shrimp burrito was perfectly made, chewy and flavorful. The pi
This place is amazing! We spent over 3 hours here and my son didn't get bored at all. They did a very good job at using every single space & turned each space into a different learning experience. I also appreciate them being apart of the all kids ca
Great place. Those colorful little houses give their own character to the beach. If you are lucky and you visit on a clear day you will relax under the soft touch of the sun. On the other hand if the ocean gets more tricky you will have the opportuni
Amazingly beautiful! The views are breathtaking. The rooms are spacious, clean and relaxing. 5 minute walk to the beach yet set in peaceful seclusion. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I love it. I would say it's definitely my favorite spot.
