It’s a fantastic hostel! I’ve never meant an owner of a business that goes above and beyond like the beautiful woman who owns it. There are interns from Yale, Harvard, Cornell, and lots of other institutions. It's a colorful place that made me feel welcome. It has decent kitchen to cook and socialize.
As an intern who spent a month here during the summer, I had an enjoyable time and made several wonderful friends. The hostess was very gracious, and went out of her way to make breakfast every morning which was a big plus 👍
The bathrooms were kept clean and beds changed every week. Considering the price, it is a stellar deal and if you're aiming for a longer stay then you have a good chance of making some great international acquaintances!
I've stayed at this location numerous times and it's always been great! The owner is sweet , professional and very understanding. There is breakfast every morning with alot of awesome baked goods . Its convenient to everything you can think of which is a PLUS!! It's a shared space but people are considerate for the most part. It's also very affordable for those that are on a budget. Possibly the most inexpensive in the city! Capitol BNB will always get my vote!
This is in a great location, not far from several restaurants and grocery stores. It's in a friendly area where there are two metro stations for quick access to other neighborhoods. The building has a very friendly layout with double appliances and tons of staff if you need help throughout your stay. Free breakfast in the mornings is a huge plus, and the owner bakes tons of goodies to keep you coming back every morning. It is a great place for travelers, interns, graduate students, and people moving into the area for work or school.
This was my first stay in a BnB and I couldn't have chosen better.
The price was really good for the place being a 25 minute walk from US Capitol.
You can always count on free breakfast that varies each day.
Rooms were clean and well equipped.
I had a great experience here!! All the guests are very respectful and nice. Rooms are very clean and the owner has a breakfast made every morning. Very close to all the bus stops so easy access for public transit. I will be working in DC again soon so I will definitely stay here again. Can’t beat the spot and the price 😊
This place is not "newly renovated". The common kitchen/living room area is often much warmer than the rest of the house. Shared areas are often messy and not as clean as expected from the photos.
The rooms also get hot very quickly and stuffy, as you'll have to share with more people. The coolest area of the building is the staircase.
Shared refrigerators are messy, and things can easily get misplaced or lost.
The rooms and bathrooms are well-maintained and clean.
The hostel is also close to grocery stores, pharmacies, and public transport services. This place also accepts deliveries, which is a plus. If you are staying here for an extended period, be sure to bring a lock for the personal locker at your room, request new bed sheets whenever needed, and avoid using the fridge.
Regardless of the issues, this hostel remains the most accessible place pricewise, and it is well-located.
