I lived here for 12 months, and these are the reasons why I rate this apartment 1 star: Well, it has some pros; you cannot deny that. Pros: 1. The location is great and convenient for living. There are several plazas around the apartment. 2. The decoration style is excellent; the apartment is new and looks comfortable. 3. The gaming room provides a lot of fun, and the gym has great equipment for exercise. However, the cons are much worse than the pros I listed above. Cons: 1. Rude & Low-Efficiency Maintenance: The maintenance team does not care about the residents' units, and they are always rude. For instance, the light bulb in the apartment is really dim, and I was asked to change it myself. Another case was when the air conditioner in my unit did not work during winter. They took almost two weeks to fix it. Before they fixed the conditioner, the room was cold and not suitable for humans to live in. 2. Useless Bug Control: The bug control team keeps bugs alive in my unit, and they say their treatment was effective (I don't know whether it is). But the bugs keep showing up, especially roaches. One time, they seemed annoyed because of my bug control requests, and they said, "Nobody has bugs in their units, except your home is really messy." 3. Unstable Fire Alarm: The fire alarm system is unstable, and sometimes it keeps making noise day and night (depends on the fire alarm system). It is really annoying, and this issue was posted by some other residents at least a year ago, which means the apartment management team did not care about the quality of living at all. The issue has never been solved. The fire alarm issue will exist until the management team realizes the problem. 4. Unreasonable Charges: I cleaned the apartment by spending two days, and I could not get the deposit back; I was charged an extra amount of money. They made a list of charges, and it includes repairing paint on the wall. However, the wall was damaged/stained before I moved in. It totally makes no sense at all to lose all my deposit and be charged an amount of money for that. 5. Unsecured Gate/Door: The garage gate and some doors to the building are not secured. In other words, anyone can have access to this apartment without having the keys. This is also the reason why some break-ins happened. Residents should have the right to be secure if they need to live in a safe place. 6. Smelly Elevator/Hall: The elevator and hall are always full of a smell that makes people uncomfortable.
I have been living at Capitol since Oct 23. In that time, I've created two service requests. One was handled immediately, later in the evening due to it's nature, and the other, within 24 hours. Both times staff was completely professional and very helpful. The one person even fixed the garbage disposal for me as it had just broken, this is excellent service! I'm surprised to see all the reviews that are so low. There are several amenities here: 2 sets of lockers for deliveries, a dry cleaning service, outstanding gym and beautiful pool. I never hear my neighbors other than someone practicing a trombone (so I practice my drums at the same time). I don't hear voices, tv's or music. Everyone here is very friendly and the office staff goes out of their way to answer questions etc. I love the security of the parking garage - cars must be registered or they are towed (every hour - not sure how people are able to 'break into' these apartments and get away given the frequency they tow). We also have electronic doors - so if people are having break-ins there is a serious hacker around! (being sarcastic). Everything is new here - appliances, floors, carpet and I do believe the rent is reasonable for this complex. It is the nicest apartment complex I've lived in (NY, GA, FL & AZ renter).
I highly recommend anyone thinking about moving here to consider other options. I have lived here for less than a year and have never had a worse experience with an apartment and its staff in my life. The maintenance team is awful, they do not respond to urgent requests in a timely manner or provide any sort of updates. There have been broken doors that have remained unfixed for months at a time. The “secure” garage door works 10% of the time at best. We have had a loose piece of siding on our apartment for over a month and the wind causes it slam and wake us up at night. The staff simply does not care. Please do yourself a favor and consider other options that are not run by this company.
It's very rare that I give a one star review but I am doing it to warn people that potentially want to live here. Do not move here! The company that runs this place are extremely tight and I hope they are reading this. They will do anything not to fix the issues that are in this complex. It's all about the money! The parking lot doors that enter into the complex mostly have broken locks. Anyone can just walk in and we notified management for a year but they never fixed it. In 2023 people had multiple break-ins during the day! The air conditioning units for specific hallways are broken, just make sure the hallway you are at has working air conditioning because if you don't, it will get to 100f in the summer and it's awful. Again we notified management for a year but the company did not want to fix them because they are tight. The parking lot stairs are disgusting and filthy and people are always smoking at the top of the parking lot. They will ask for a $500 deposit when you start your lease. When leaving, no matter how hard you try and clean the place they will find something to charge you on, forget getting that back. They charged us a carpet clean which is a complete joke because there were no stains and we cleaned it. Honestly this complex is so overpriced and with all the issues we have just presented, this is why we left. Don't come here and save yourself the nightmare.
ALMOST ONE YEAR UPDATE: Just resigned another year lease. Adding some extra items to pros and cons with a year of knowledge to go off of. This is the apartment complex of apartment complexes! Pros! - The amenities are pretty awesome, the complex is extremely clean (edit: overall the complex is clean but I have added a con in this subject as well) - trash valet is something I never had to deal with before but it has been a pretty pleasant experience. the office is on top of their stuff and very responsive. - Jalen, Ricky and Marcie have knocked it out of the park. Pro tip: One thing I noticed, there is almost always people in the office, potential new residents, current residents, etc. So I sometimes do not get a call answered since they are with someone. I just send them an email and have an answer in no time. Makes it very easy to keep track of communication. EDIT: After being here for a year, this absolutely still stands as being truthful. They have been beyond excellent. Packages delivered? I used to be nervous because other places I lived, it would be left outside. Had packages stolen before but here it is in a locker in the lobby. Gym is pretty great as far as an apt gym goes. Pool has been clean and great. EDIT: They just updated the gym and it is a lot nicer than previously. Good experience. Pest control is very good. I do not see any pests anywhere. If you use the app to log work orders, they get done very fast. I haven't had an issue there. There is a simple game room but when I had a couple family members visit for a short period of time, they really enjoyed it. Cons: EDIT: I live in one of the buildings where the ground is cement. Because of the trash valet, the floors are very dirty. The stairwell was dirty but they have just sent in crews to paint so it can be kept up to standard. Looks much better now.) The only two cons I have about this place is the dishwasher, compared to everything in the apartment, it seems so old. Like it was bought from an apt complex that went out of business or something. Two, Uber eat drivers get very confused trying to find my apt. Haven't had a single driver be able to locate my apt on the first try. Same for me when I first moved in. It isn't the easiest to tell the difference between the buildings. This is minor when I consider everything else so not really a big deal to us. My 9 year old says this place is a 20/10! So the kid approves too!
This is a tale of two buildings The building is now managed by Cushman Wakefield so before you move in this is what to expect Safety - Every single fire door in building 3 is broken, the doors are held open by rocks and the doors that are closed will not open because the handles are broken Expect the security gates to work infrequently We have experienced car vandalism, building vandalism, garages broken into and tires slashed Cleanliness - you will pay 40 dollars a month for door garbage pick up, which is sporadic at best , during the summer we went 3 days without garbage pick up so imagine the smell in the hallways, if you complain expect Jason to knock on your door early in the morning with a notice of a 75 dollar fine for not bringing the garbage back into the home. Maintenance - they make it easy to file work request using their portal that’s the good news The bad news is they will close the tickets without ever entering the home or making the repairs. Hope you like writing emails because you will find yourself writing a lot of them, with no response. Rent - expect to pay full market for these units and also expect a 200-400 dollar rent increase every renewal. Towing - don’t have your parking pass in a prominent location or if your car’s inspection sticker has expired you’re getting towed. Your friend parked in any of the lots expect that car to be towed too. The good news it’s only 360 dollars and a ride to Plano to get it back. Staff - you will end up hating Jason just like the rest of us. Amenities - want to take a dip in the pool during one of our many hot Texas summers, good luck. You will learn to embrace the loud music, glass bottles and garbage strewn about and if the pool is actually open that’s a bonus Overall - Once Cushman and Wakefield took over the property you will find yourself in a constant battle with the building managers just to get basic things done. Oh I forgot, hope you like fire alarms, because they will go off constantly. :: UPDATE : We finally moved out after they had the audacity to raise the rent on the apartment over 400 dollars more a month, for less services, a building that is falling apart a complex that smells like marijuana and security doors that don’t provide security And to the very end Jason was a complete jerk he yelled at my cleaning lady, he wanted to charge me over 800 dollars for “Repairs” these same repairs that I opened work orders for and that were never done. I would rather be homeless than ever live in this complex again. Horrible staff, horrible services. Jason needs to be fired immediately. Do not move here.
Current building inspections have resulted in the top five feet of the drywall and insulation in the living room to be removed and covered up by a large plastic tarp, leaving 25 percent of the apartment unusable (the entire living room and part of the kitchen). There have been minimal updates from management (not the on-site staff, Stephanie and Marci have been great) on how long the unit will be in this state, if/when the walls will be repaired, and what alternatives may be available if further inspections/construction/removal of walls are needed. There have been other issues with delayed maintenance requests, which would result in this review being three stars, however with the current state of things, the review has been reduced to one star.
I lived in this community for two year. I lived in Building 2 in which you always find cleaning issue, my Costco water bottle was stolen outside my home while waiting for water replacement, instead of helping me out to find out the culprit the leasing office asked me to give them the proof. They always put huge unreasonable charges on tenants and when you confront them they will ask you to read the entire rent agreement instead of telling the truth even when you specifically ask them. They forfeited my approx 70% security deposit in the name of cleaning and painting when i left the apartment without any prior information , how come tenant is liable for all such expenses. I understand reasonable deduction of $100-200 but they have deduction $600 in the name of painting and cleaning. I would NEVER EVER recommend this community to anyone. The leasing office staff wont help you at all!

In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we crit
