This hotel is world class. Elegant, tasteful décor in the public areas and private rooms.
Our room had 12-14 foot ceilings with beautiful drapes, the king bed quite comfortable and plenty of coffee pods.
Everything was pristine.
The bar & grill had lovely service. The dinner menu was brief but good. I really enjoyed my 3 night stay.
The second, and last time, we will stay at the Capital Hotel. Check in is advertised at 3:00 p.m. After driving six hours from Nashville last Thursday and arriving at 3:15 p.m., we waited in the lobby for an hour and a half for our room to be ready. We told the front desk we had an event to get to, and we were in our room at 4:45 p.m. Ridiculous. Our Capital King room and bathroom were HUGE, that's about all I can say. The room and the bathroom were out of a 1980's feature article on a tired country club. The hotel is SORELY in need of a refresh. Not just in design but in lighting, amenities, and plugs that fit travelers needs in the 21st C. In our gigantic room, there was exactly one multiplug outlet on top of the desk next to one side of the bed. Period. Where do you plug in the hair dryer (the single plug in the bathroom is so old that it can't support the weight of the dryer plug), your 2 laptops, 2 Kindles, 2 cell phones, etc. Two of the three days we were there, our room had not been cleaned when we returned around 4:00 p.m. Food in the restaurant is ridiculously expensive. What killed us is that we paid $380 for three of our nights, and $304 for the other for this experience, in LITTLE ROCK!! We couldn't get in for bfast our last morning so we walked across the street to the Marriott. Bright, light, modern amenities, what a breath of fresh air. Capital Hotel needs to make a MAJOR investment in this historic gem or reduce their prices significantly. Huge disappointment.
This was our first time in this Little Rock stalwart in downtown. Although the building is very traditional and formal with a big marble lobby, grand staircases and heavy furniture, the room was comfortable, large and boasting a big bathroom — even if screams a bit of grandparents’ country club vibe. But it’s close to the restored downtown district with glorious old brick buildings transformed into shops and services, as well as the expansive Clinton library, and good restaurants. The bar is a gathering place for all Little Rock so a bit crowded and difficult to access; breakfast is expensive. But if you want a taste of the old traditional ways in the Soutv, this place won’t disappoint.
How is this a 5-star hotel?
I've stayed in lots of them, and this is NOT 5-star. I'm not sure this is a 1-star hotel...
It felt more like a cross between a dilapidated museum and a college dormitory. The furniture seemed like it belonged in a dorm. The worst part was the musty smell... like there had once been something rotting in the room. Can't quite put my finger on it but I grew up on a farm and it smelled like a barn that hadn't been used in a few years. I couldn't sleep and finally left the hotel before 5 am with a sore back because the queen mattress was so poor. I was informed by the front desk that the car service that I had been told would be available to take me to the airport was not available because they couldn't find drivers.
The only thing 5-star about this hotel was the toilet paper. Thanks, Charmin!
Beautiful decor, delicious food served at the bar and grill. Its original decor makes it a one of a kind stay, with absolutely wonderful and elegant service! The beds are delightful to sleep and the room were exquisitely clean, the halls are filled with beautiful architecture star casings and design . Definitely an experience of class, time, and atmosphere. It’s a luxury hotel experience from the moment you pull into the front doors. I was greeted with a “Welcome ma’am and an umbrella” as I stepped out of the truck on a rainy evening. It’s most definitely a place you want to visit!
This hotel is what dreams are made of. The structure is old enough to be romantic or business like and updated to take the old away. The Capital keeps many of their employees for a long time and many can remember us by name. The service is 1sr class. The main restaurant is closed, but you can still get a meal and drink from the beautiful bar.
Outstanding Hotel! First we were met out front by Billy, he went well above and beyond to make sure me, my wife, and our luggage made it to our room and set up for us. Everything about this hotel is wonderful, first time in a long time we felt at home away from home. All of the service was outstanding, History is amazing, entire property is very palatial. Matt served us at the front desk upon our arrival and departure, always smiling and willing to accommodate our every need. Matt also assisted me with some items we accidentally left behind, once I contacted him he took ownership of my problem and made sure our items were shipped to my office. We actually shared an elevator ride on the second night with a very prominent actor/star that stays there quite frequently. Overall, I could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. We will be back!!
My wife and I stayed here our first and only time for my birthday this summer and were treated like royalty. Extra friendly employees. Clean. Beautiful. Because it was slow, they upgraded us to a wonderful suite. Right across from the convention center. Easy walk to food and the rivermarket area. Kitty corner from the Old State House, which is a great place to visit for free. Capital Bar and grill has great food and nice atmosphere. Everything is pricey but worth it.

We have stayed here many times. Staff has always been nice, and rooms are always clean. Breakfast well, what can I say, depends on who mans the kitchen.
Great location, close to many restaurants, Baptist Hospital, Arkansas Heart Hospital. Upon check in the clerk noticed I was disabled and promptly gave me a 1st floor room. He told me where I could park so I wouldnât have to walk very far, as they w

We spent 2 nites at this Quality Inn. I was impressed with friendliness of the front desk staff. Since we were staying due to an early morning medical procedure, the location was ideal. We were placed in a quiet area of the hotel, which was very muc

So good! We stopped for takeout on the way to our hotel on a road trip. Cool spot downtown, but we found parking on the street. Great experience with service and delicious food. They did forget our tortillas for one entree, but we had so many chips,
