Service was great! We ate at Capers for the first time on our 27th anniversary.
Our crab cake appetizer was made and cooked well.
The wife's steak was lovely, and I stole as many bites as she allowed.
Unfortunately the fish & crits were a little dry and could have been better.
The ambiance was welcoming by the fireplace.
It was worth the drive.
Decent food. Overrated for the price. It was good but not spectacular. Some cozy dining areas. Coconut crème pie is very good as is the fiesta dip but would be better with veggies not just chips :)
Great little restaurant right off of Cantrell with fine dining, and so many delicious food items to choose from. The blackened chicken, Caesar salad was fantastic and the hot rolls they bring to the table was delicious. The service was a little scattered, and our food came an hour after we ordered it.
I should start by saying we are big fans of capers. In the past, we’ve had nothing but great experiences. Sadly, our most recent was a disappointment From start to finish.
To begin, we had a 7 o’clock reservation for three. We arrived a couple minutes early. The hostess igreeted us and started showing us to our table. Come to find out our table had been seated with the party ahead of us who were walk-ins. No big deal we didn’t reserve a particular table so I simply said to the hostess anywhere is fine. We were sat at a table for six or eight. There were three of us. Needless to say it made for an awkward, seating arrangement.
To make matters worse, By seating, is there the hostess managed to triple seats a server with us and two other tables just arriving.
Given that our server Did her best, but it was disappointing that she got no help from anyone else. When the restaurant does this to a server, someone needs to step up and lend them a hand. Our meal finally arrived (emphasis on finally). One was fresh and very good. One was fair, having been kept warm under the heat lamp. The third evidently sat long enough for a good skin to form on top of the cream sauce.
We got through dinner. Enjoyed three very good desserts. Dessert is always one of my favorite parts at capers. Gave the server a credit card, and proceeded to sit and wait for almost 30 minutes to get the bill back to sign.
This is an evening when a lot of little things happen to add up to a really disappointing evening. When that happens, I tend to look to management rather than to the floor staff. Management is in charge of making sure that all the parts are working together in sync, and when they’re not to step in and help that happen. Nothing else, seeing three diners sitting at a table with four empty chairs I would at least have stopped by to say “sorry about the confusion with The Table.”
To say that we will, of course, go back to capers. After this many years, one bad evening does not ruin the relationship. But it was disappointing enough to warrant.
!!! Will not be coming back unfortunately!!! Only time I ever went here to eat the food was good. The wait time was ridiculous considering they weren’t very busy. We waited for about 45 minutes to get our check after we had asked for it. Then it took them over an hour to come and collect our payment. I seen a comment about the wine glasses have lipstick and I too had that same issue multiple wine glasses with lipstick still on them. Not to mention the young server seemed to be very poor at his job. And then complained about us not tipping him right in front of us. Then the manager also seems like she had an attitude problem. I say if you want a good tip provide better service! Good food can only get you so far when you have poor service but shoutout to the KITCHEN STAFF with their expertise!! Sadly I will not be coming back.
Good food and presentation. The staff was nice and accommodating. Sat outside on a beautiful evening. Enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service.
James Willis, the Chef, is amazing! He checked on us during our meal, and sent me home with a little bonus food that we had discussed. Great food, and great customer service that made us feel special.
We recently dined here following my sister's college graduation. I ordered the grilled salmon, which was amazing. They don't have a cocktail menu, but the drinks we ordered were pretty good also. I am giving this place three (3) stars not because of the food, but for the quality of the service we received. We made a reservation ahead of time because we knew we would have a large group. We were seated in one of the private rooms available, which was nice. There were several errors with some of our orders and our servers were forgetting to bring out items that we ordered. I've previously worked as a server and am aware of how difficult and even overwhelming it can be to serve a large group of guests so I am able to extend some grace. However, the servers who were helping us were visibly annoyed and frustrated with us, and there was no demonstration of accountability when we brought the errors to their attention. The food and drinks were pretty good, but I doubt I would return to dine here as I did not feel valued or appreciated as a guest. Given the experience we had, I would definitely not recommend dining here if you have a large group.

Did not expect to enjoy the banana sandwich as much as I did, although I would have asked for slightly less nuts on it next time. The coffee was tasty and my daughter enjoyed her chocolate milk. Staff was nice and the location was great, busy but we
