Wow! This campground was so much fun and in a beautiful location!! We stayed 3 nights and didn't want our trip to end. The entire park is super clean, bathrooms and hot showers were perfect, and everyone was really friendly. The beach and trails were our favorite part. We did have our campsite raided by a pack of 5 giant raccoons who tried to open and drink our Pepsi. We spent a lot of time riding our bikes on the beach and trails, and relaxing on the warm sand.
I have Verizon and service was there but minimal. The camp hosts were friendly, ice and firewood were available at the reservation office.
We can't wait to return!
Wonderful campground right on the Oregon coast. You can hear the waves from almost all the campsites. There are also yurts available for rent, but they need to be booked months in advance. There is a 5-mile stretch of beach for walking, wading, or just reading a good book while listening to the ocean. I really enjoy coming to this parking for the long Beach walk.
One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. The park staff I’ve had interactions with during multiple stays are very personable. Everyone seems happy and enjoying their job. You will need to check in at the entrance booth for both sites and cabins. Otherwise you’ll have a park ranger come by your site or call you later in the day. (Parking pass required) during the summer months the park staff drive around the campground and sell ice and firewood. I’ve never seen anything like it and absolutely loved it! Great job Cape lookout staff! Restrooms and showers were always clean and stocked. Many of the tent/RV sites are fairly private with bushes and trees around. Loop A and B are close to the beach, but no real privacy. They are all packed in right next to one another. The yurts are well kept and back up to a bunch of trees. The cabins however are the BEST part of the campground. They are in a separate area of the campground by the day use area. There’s a separate parking area and wheeled carts to take your things down a dirt path to the cabins. They are fairly secluded and most of them have some pretty amazing views of the beach! Small kitchens (fridge, freezer, sink, microwave) heater in living space. The bathroom was roomy and had plenty of hot water for the shower. The view from the front porch is out of this world. You’ll never want to stay anywhere else. There’s also a fire pit and picnic table outside. The porch had a propane grill as well. Lots of walking trails around the camping area and easy access to the beach. This quiet and secluded gem of a campground is a must! Do yourself a favor and stay here. The cabins are so worth it! Worth noting some cabins and yurts allow pets.
I recently had an incredible experience at this campground, earning it a solid 5-star rating! Here's what I loved about it:
1. Loop A is situated right next to the beach, which makes for a fantastic setting. However, it's important to note that there's a trade-off as you might not have as much privacy here.
2. Although the campsites themselves may not have beach views, don't let that deter you! A short walk takes you to breathtaking views of both the mountains and the ocean, making up for the lack of direct beachfront sites.
3. The amenities at this campground were top-notch. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, and the hot showers were a true luxury. They were the best I've come across in all my camping adventures.
4. The check-in process was a breeze, making our arrival stress-free and enjoyable.
5. I was impressed by the availability of firewood and ice right on-site, and the hosts were incredibly responsive to any of our needs or questions.
6. In today's connected world, it's always a plus to have reliable network coverage. The AT&T network had decent reception with 2 bars of service, allowing us to stream music and take calls without a hitch.
7. Another great aspect of this campground is its proximity to Tillamook, which is only a 15-minute drive away. It's a convenient option for accessing major stores and any essentials you might need during your stay.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at this campground, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a beachside and mountain view camping experience with clean facilities, easy check-in, and essential amenities. It's a true gem on the Oregon coast!
We tent camped here for one night in early June. We had site C32, which had a really interesting and massive tree anchoring the site. Though, very little privacy. In fact, most of the sites in loop C offer little privacy, and all of loops A and B offer no privacy…none at all. But, with access to the beach it’s an ok compromise.
Hot, private showers, clean bathrooms, potable water in several locations. Oregon State Park campgrounds are really a cut above the rest!
Stayed 1 night in a yurt. This is a fairly large campground. First experience with a yurt and loved it. The yurt was large with a queen size futon and a bunk bed that could easily fit 3 more. There was a heater in the room. I loved the glass top for views of the sky on a clear night. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. Also had showers.
The highlight was the proximity to the beach which was wide with lot of sand and a hit with the kids. Next time will try to go for a longer stay to check out some of the trails…
Both the yurts and the cabins are amazing. The cabins especially because your so close to the ocean. Breathtaking views and the sounds of nature are excellent!
I've been coming here yearly for over a decade. It's a family tradition now, and there's a reason. Free hot showers, plenty of restrooms, spacious campsites. Dogs are always welcome, but pretty much everywhere in and around the campground requires a leash. This is fine with me, but I've previously been bit by an off leash dog because its owner didn't keep it secure.
I've never had a serious problem here, and the staff have always been great. Fire wood and ice can be bought at the check-in booth for $5/bundle of wood and $2/bag of ice. They even take debit!
It is, however, camping in the Pacific Northwest. There's always a risk of rain, wind, or generally abysmal weather. If you're a seasoned camper, this will be easily handled with your extra tarps.
10/10 will return next year for updated sunset pics.

We had a good time walking around and seeing the lighthouse, unfortunately it was very foggy that day but we were able to see the some views after a bit. The lighthouse was so fun, it was so small and cute. They were closed due to the winter season t
Not what I was expecting. Turned out to be one of my new favorite places! Great view with little waterfalls, shells, agate and seaglass! So happy my wife and I turned down this road after passing it up so many times before!
Oh my word, what a great Butchers and a fabulous family. We stopped here to pick up some minced beef and got talking about bacon. Although I like North American bacon, I was missing UK back bacon which has more pink and less white (not streaky). Vick
So quiet and peaceful. Clean beach with barely anyone on it. People did have their dogs off leash and there are quite a few sand flies. No bathroom in the parking lot and you cannot camp here. But we really enjoyed walking here while visiting.
Cool place. Oysters were absolutely delicious. I wonderful punch to the face of ocean glory.
Fish tacos were great. Good beer list. I would definitely come back of I find myself in the area again.
Dress warmly. Buy some to go as well.
I canât say enough good things about Handy Oysters! This place truly deserves a 5-star review.
First and foremost, their staff is not only welcoming but also the friendliest youâll ever encounter. They make you feel like family from the moment y

This 11.5 mile hike was BRUTAL. It's very challenging. We did both the summits and it took 8 hrs. There are 3 rope climbs that no joke you need the rope to go up or down...HIGHLY RECOMMEND going counter clockwise, which is the way we went thank God I
We stopped in while visiting Tillamook. Planning to return when we have more time, which will be Friday on our way home. We loved this shop! It has everything to offer and very friendly staff!
