First of all, Tim and Martha were super friendly. Simply awesome. Why is this place not at the top of the list? Room was amazing. Had the Cottage room. CLEAN and great A/C! Wonderful bathroom and super comfortable bed. Dog friendly. Did not smell like animals at all. Parking was on site, free and close to all of the action. ||Tim gave all sorts of helpful advice and cooked a mean breakfast! Martha was very friendly and helped on the restaurant selection. Their dogs were friendly and quiet. Very Very clean place.||Room was quiet and we never heard anyone else. Price was pretty good considering it was peak summer vacation time. Everything in the room worked and was in great shape.||We will be back, and thanks for the the wonderful hospitality!!
Very homey and comfortable with a great breakfast. Stayed three nights and had a different breakfast each day. They have a hot water machine in the dining room and a comfortable living room to hang out in. Parking was large enough for a large jeep.
Second time staying with Martha and Tim at the Canterbury Cottage. Perfectly situated in the center of town. This stay we reserved late, and we were in the smaller Garden room, which is a bit tight but very clean and efficient. We recommend reserving a larger room earlier in the year (they book up early). Hosts are very friendly and know everything about the area and the Park. Breakfast is plentiful, varied and delicious. Guests must love dogs (we do); Tim and Martha have two poodle mixes (they don't shed), and they are members of the family!
My fiance and I had the best time. It was in a great area - right in the heart of downtown. The room was so cute. And the owner was so nice ans helpful. She also has two woodles - echo and hammy - who i loved!! I would definitely recommend the stay !!!!
The room was somewhat cramped with a large old rocking horse taking up space. The bed was average. It took many tries to get the toilet to flush properly. The thin walls and floors mean you hear other people easily. The breakfast was quite disappointing aside. Two pieces of bread with cream cheese stuck between them and melted with dry, frozen sausage. Considering the cost of this place a better breakfast was expected. At least there was a grapefruit half although it was baked with sugar. The location is good for walking into town and quiet.
The bed and breakfast is in a very convenient location . You park your car and walk everywhere. The sunset city room where we stayed was very comfortable and just right for two people. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great. I am glad we stayed for breakfast. A short car ride and you enter the park loop road in acadia . Will definitely stay there again if we come back to bar harbor.
This is a wonderful, cozy bed and breakfast in Bar Harbor! The location is perfect, and close to everything you need: in town shops, restaurants, and walks along the shore and out to the sandbar. The food is excellent! We were treated to yogurt parfaits, delicious breakfast tacos, and yummy blueberry pancakes. Our room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The bed was more comfortable than our own at home. Martha and Tim are so welcoming and helpful. A perfect place to stay! (As a note: We stayed here a number of years ago with our poodle; at least one of the rooms is pet-friendly.) Thank you!
Canterbury Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. The hosts, Martha and Tim are warm and welcoming. The 4-legged hosts, Hammy and Echo will also greet you with wagging tails and snuggles. Breakfast was fantastic! Rooms are comfy, inviting and very clean. Parking in downtown Bar Harbor can be a challenge so the location is a plus. Walking distance to the local grocery and restaurants is another great perk. We highly recommend Canterbury Cottage and will definitely return.

We found this place last minute on a late-night drive to our airbnb. Itâs a little kitchen in the back of a gas station but donât let that deter you (I was hesitant when my husband suggested it but Iâm so glad we stopped)! The food was incredib
